You're right, of course - I'm a lone voice trying to force my opinions on everyone else.

That's why only 92.31% of posters currently agree with this week's heritage jumper as our clash strip.

    Bugger.

92.31 people want it to be our clash jumper because it keeps our two primary colours, and is a significant change from our existing one such that it really does solve clashes...... and are scared of what the AFL will impose upon us.

I doubt many care if it has a opera house on it or not. I suspect a bit of modernising will occur.

I'd prefer no Opera House in the red V were our clash strip. However, I suspect the plan is for some jazzy, modern number that will be quite ugly but sell more units.

Opera House is low grade marketing.

Should the Dees have the Grollo Tower on their strip, should the Pies have an Eddie watermark, should the Lions have a drunk Schoolie?

            Nope

Keep the red V. It and the hooped socks are our liucky symbols!

I'm not a huge fan of the Opera House logo either. It's a bit tacky when you think about it.

Tacky, yes, but I quite like it. It's something that says 'Sydney' without forgetting our lineage, SMFC being on the back.

                  Rate the hoops, too.

If you look at it the right way it also resembles a swan in sillouette.

I think the jumper we wear now is great (opera house and all). But I really, really would like to see the red V (all white, red shorts) as our clash strip/Melbourne strip.

Yeah Wil's good at that. He's anti South Melbourne. He has never cared about the members south of the border, and has said as much previously. It's a nothing statement that I have come to expect of him

Out of interest, who does Sydney officially "clash" with ?
                          Essendon maybe ?

I think it's meant to be an "away" strip for all interstate games.

That?s exactly right great use of negative space on the logo. I have always interpreted it as that.

Aw shucks, thanks Piobaireachd! I'm not anti-South Melbourne, I am anti-Melbourne... there is a difference! And as much as I would love to drag this thread down into a Sydney vs Melbourne thread I will avoid that.

Regarding the jumper. I mentioned the Opera house on the Heritage jumper. Actually in retrospect I think that would be silly as it is the sharp point of the V that gives the jumper bite and makes it look quite aggressive. The opera house thing actually softens the look of the V which is probably why most people, myself included, like the Heritage jumper better than the standard one.

If the Swans HAVE to have a clash jumper for next year I would love to see them go back and look at the home one as well. It is time for an update I think. Personally I like the idea of a Black Swans/Mute (white) Swans kind of home and away idea...
