Trade bait would be O'Keefe, Mathews, Saddington, Fosdike and Schneider. Obviously these are handy players that would be nice to keep(esp O'Keefe), however you have to trade a bit to get a bit.
    Trade O'Keefe?

You better be prepared for the tantrums from one particular RWO listee!

Wouldn't trade him. But would look at Fosdike Saddington Spriggs (if we can) Doyle James and maybe even Matthews.

Yeah, things look great at present. We have little or no injuries to our spine and our on ball contingent, but the fact remains injuries occur over the entire year and you are only as good as your replacements.

Schauble and Bevan could come into the side and Goodes can always hold down CHB if need be. The team can always be restructured in emergencies but there is no way Saddington could hold CHB anyway. He doesn't know when to attempt a mark and when to spoil and even when he flys for a contested mark he rarely ends up taking it.

I wouldn't expect much for a trade but even a 3rd round pick would be better than persisting with him

I think we could get a Woewoedin, half a Pickett & a Tiffany Cherry for the lot of them.

Or possibly Justin Murphy, Mark Bolton & whatever other dross Sheedy is trying to palm off this year.

I would trade all of Saddo, fixter, Shaubs, Mathews and Powell plus fosdike, for two picks below 30 or one pick below 15.

Over rated crap the lot of them.

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Ahh its that time of the year again!

No one has wanted a Swans player for the last 2 years why would they start now?

The only player I could see that might have some value is Mathews. But I doubt that.

Lets just hope we see someone brought in (or step up) to be our giant-FF killer FB. Plus a young understudy to Hall I will be happy.

'Genius' may be a bit extravagant, but certainly a huge plus for our side this year and the next couple - more so than a pick 15.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

An observation: Most of talls picked up between pick 8-20 are ordinary. At best, may be one out of four or five turn out to be better than servicable. If this indicates any, it shows that we might be better off trading picks in this range for proven tall players.

Better tall players seem to come from lower draft positions somehow, e.g., Hansen, Miller and Matguire.

Surely teams would find the idea of recruiting another club's former captain appealing

Let's face it. We over-rate our players. It's natural, we see them more often than other teams, take note of the good stuff they do and recognise their value in doing certain tasks. I had an argument with a Catter not long ago who stated categorically that Steve Johnson > Ryan O'Keeffe. He was wrong of course (!!), but to him, he has watched plenty of Johnson recognised the

                                IMO:
O'Keeffe is vulnerable for the right deal, no doubt about it.
Most players are, with the exception of perhaps Baz & Goodesy. Everybody else is fair game.
We'd get next to nothing for Fosdike or Saddo, nor most of the blokes not in the firsts. We'd get bugger all for Mathews, too, for that matter. Ditto for Kirk, Crouch, although J Bolton would have some currency.
Some of our youngsters - Schmidt, Willoughby, Moore, Sunny, Powell, Mal, etc....what value can we place on them? They are bait however for the right deal.

In saying all this though, it appears that the time of the big trade has come and gone...considering the money that has been thrown at the saints players and J. Brown & L. Power and the knowledge that none of them have been willing to move clearly indicates that. Honestly, I wouldn't expect most of the Swans to move now, clubs are focusing on retaining and developing the list with minimal trade deals done - and none that are significant.

My thoughts are that we will lose Nicks, Maxy, Ball, James and perhaps Schauble and Fixter/Doyle given their injury propensity. I don't expect us to secure a big signing.

Liz: you stated that a position wasn't available for Nicks cos he was on the vets list...I thought that a vet is certainly on our listed players however only half his salary is counted under the cap. You sure? Cos I'm pretty sure...
