    Agree.
NOG and Bucky have gone from fair/poor this time last year, to high rotation midfielders.

LRT on the other hand, has gone from the worst player in the history of the AFL, to really quite good, in a matter of weeks.
    That's quite an improvement.
Yes, I admit I was wrong about him, but he still hasn't been tested on a class forward in a close game.

I heard he was reported on the news, but I had assumed it was for the (3rd quarter?) discretion that lead to Roos pulling him for a word.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

The emergency umpire told him at the beginning of the 2nd quarter so it was most likely for that Sinclair incident.

As in previous weeks, magnificent accomplished performance in the first half. This is really one of the best team performances over a period from the Swans I can ever recall. All working well together and playing outstanding football.

Perhaps you could argue the second half was a bit disappointing (I haven't watched it all yet - will do so tomorrow) given we didn't put them away, however given a six goal win against a dangerous 5th place team I think it would be churlish to view it that way. If we would have been given a solid 6 goal win before the game I think we all have happily taken that.

Next week should be a good work out to get our game right for the MCG. Hopefully the guys treat it seriously.

My impressions - first half was excellent, second not so good, but we were never really headed, and mostly just wasteful in the second, but I won't complain.

Just a few observations and responses to points brought up already:

Davis had a brilliant first half - good to see him kick a bag and get a little confidence coming into the finals.
O'Loughlin seemed to go off the boil after quarter time, but he started the game on fire.
Kennelly was our key player in the first quarter - it seemed every possession he had in the opening term involved him running through the centre square.
            LRT continued his steep improvement.
Williams, while not having a huge influence disposal wise played a great game in that he shut Harvey out of the game.

On the injury front - Roos said at the AM that Ball had a cork, could have come back on if needed, but that it may have put next week at risk had he come back on, so I would imagine he should be right for next week.

O'Keefe should, at worst, end up with a week - it seemed like he made contact with his upper arm, not the point of the elbow, but who knows how it will be viewed.

            I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

What annoyed me about that incident is that Sinclair just held on and would not let go. O'Keefe let go with a shrug off that caught him under the jaw.

The ump didn't reverse the kick but it was close to worthy of a 50 metre penalty.

This could well help ROK as well - the controlling umpire thought so little of the incident that there wasn't even a reversal.

What? That was the incident? I was thinking I must have missed it. Plain view of at least one on-field umpire, maybe several, and not considered worthy of so much as a free-kick reversal. I'd be horrified if that even got to the Tribunal.

If Rhino gets time for that, it just gives more power to the jumper pullers and rabbit-punchers after the mark has been taken. The fact that the only available penalty (50m) is usually disproportionate to the offence, means that the umpires are loathe to pay it, and the line between those that are paid and those that aren't is not clear, to say the least. Bring in/back the 25m penalty (as an alternative to 50), I say.

                    I think they'll dismiss.

(and I've said for a long time there neesd to be a 15 or 25m penalty as well as the 50m).

What has SOS done to LRT. 2 superb contested marks, and 2 smothers in 30 secs .

I thought Fosdike did OK, did get alot of ball but put his body into contests.

Ablett and Buchanon are just improving no end.

The usuals did played well. Tadgh was great until he was made accountable.

As has been said above, the full fwd line fired.

It was also good to see Leo running outside the D50 for a change in the last two weeks.

The whole team seems to have grown in confidence over the last month.

The ROK thing didn't seem nearly as worrying as the Goodes thing to me, especially on replay.

Goodes was only punching an arm which was pushing him in the face, so nothing there.

It'll be interesting to see if the match committee picks up on the Goodes one - since they always seem to come under scrutiny in the derby or rival matches

Speaking of Roos mentioning Ball's corked thigh - Did he mention in his post-match press conference if Willo also picked up an injury? Because I noticed in the 2nd half (he was complaining to the trainer numerous times about his upper left thigh - might have been a cork).

2 two LRT smothers were brilliant - it was definitely a Take #1, Take #2 kind of moment.

What a great team performance. The first half was sublime football and I couldnt think of a better way to spend a beautiful warm sunny Sunday arvo than watching Sydney kill the Kanga's top four hopes by half time. Never mind the 2nd half, which was dull and admittedly a bit dissappointing. Fact is we had it won already, there was nothing to be gained by improving our %, we dont want to risk injuring players for nothing and the Roos were desperate to save some of their %.

Good to meet you Wardy and Old Roy Boy. Hopefully the next time I see you will be at Telstra Stadium in week 3 of the finals.

These are VERY HAPPY days at the footy!
