Ablett avoided tacklers quite a few times, when I thought he was going to get caught.

Smashed him in a crunching tackle, dumped him on the ground, ripped the ball out of his hands, trampled on him as he got the ball out, and earned a Free for being tackled around the legs.... VINTAGE STUFF!

One of the things our midfield has been lacking in recent years is a Voss-type strong bodied player, someone who can just bullock his way through contests when all else fails.

While I'm not suggesting that Ablett is destined to become as fine a player as Voss was at his prime (though nor am I going to say it won't happen), he seems to be providing this piece of the missing jigsaw.

I'd be confident playing West Coast on any ground except Subi.

Well you were the one contemplating us finishing fifth recently!

The Swans finishing fifth is still more likely than St Kilda or the Roos playing away from home and beating Adelaide or West Coast in round one of the finals IMHO.

Do we have to give points back - or will the Roos win by 200 points in R22?

I see Dempster as another one who could fill this gap. Roos has used Dempster in this role for some effect I think. Big strong body would go very handy when we need to flex some physical presence around the ball.

When I studied Latin I think it was still being spoken on the street. Then my university philosophy course gave me an inkling that I understood what you were aiming at:

Reductio ad absurdum (Latin for "reduction to the absurd", traceable back to the Greek ?? ??? ?????? ???????, "reduction to the impossible", often used by Aristotle) is a type of logical argument where we assume a claim for the sake of argument, arrive at an absurd result, and then conclude the original assumption must have been wrong, since it gave us this absurd result. This is also known as proof by contradiction.

Seemed close enough. Or you're too deep for me.
