Too early to tell about our GF chances. I wonder when Adelaide is going to pass their peak? I hope it's going to be during the finals period.

I have to give my mum a yes-or-no answer.

Too right. Tell her yes. Be damned with not getting ahead of ourselves! Enjoy the anticipation but be prepared for the big fall if we dont make it.

Agreed. Lids firmly off. I'm clearing my calendar in September as we speak.

Havent thought about that yet. Maybe after the Hawk game .

Realistically, to be in the GF we must win a game against either the Crows or the Eagles at their home ground for which we will go into as the underdogs. So still a lot of works to do to get to the GF.

I booked September leave back in January - leave nothing to chance (or the whim of managers)

FWIW I think it is unAustralian to even consider not going to a GF function regardless of whether the Swans will be there.
Of course the Swans can make it, we'll just have to wait and see. I'm really hoping we will but not looking forward to the queuing up for tickets (why didn't I pay the extra $75 for a premiership membership?).

If we win this week and next week then we will make the GF. If we win this week and lose next week we will probably struggle to make the Gf as this will possibly require travel to both Perth and Adelaide within a 15 day period. Hard work. Travelling to both Adelaide and Subi may leave us exhausted for the GF if we were successful in the Prelim. I'd had to make it and get flogged. Winning in Week 1 of the finals is definitely best case scenario.

FWIW I'm un-Australian but intend to go to a GF function anyway.
It's very hard to live in a studio apartment in San Jose with a man who's learning to play violin. That's what she told the police when she handed them the empty revolver.

I'm impressed that there's actually a GF function in KL...must be an expat thing, I assume.

Best thing to do - go anyway! I agree with tantrum - it might be fun to watch the GF in Malaysia regardless. I don't think we'll make it if we lose the QF.

Btw, passed a SportsTAB this morning - Swans now into third favourites for the premiership, down to $4!

The main reason I think the Swans can win the GF is because I only moved to Melbourne this year but will be O/S for the second half of september.

Is your mother Australian or Malaysian? If she's an Aussie, hanging out watching Aussie football with a group of expat Aussies could make her homesick.
This is where your ulterior motives come into play...

Do you want her to return to Australia? If so, tell her the Swans are certainties. If not, tell her they're no chance.

Sssshhhh. She just revealed to me that she's been lurking on RWO. I don't want her to know my battle tactics.
