    Me too

I wonder how many people said that when Lockett joined the Swans. I've got more fait in our coaching staff and if they think he'll be good for the club they should go to Brisie and get him.

      Aker for Willo.
Or Willo + Schuable for Aker plus 2nd round draft pick.

      Doesnt effect out youth development.

Willo has at best one year left. What will the Lions gain from this?

A trade along the line of Mathews for Aker would be most realistical. We could then move Willo to play the sweeper role cross half back and play Aker as the play maker in Willo's place. We could move Willo to the midfield in burst as well. That is the bonus.

How would adding one 29 year old affect our youth development?

I also don't understand all this 'he only plays for himself' - he's been part of three premiership teams and is also leading the I50s for Brisbane - ie: he gets the ball inside to the forwards as well as kicking goals himself.

He might be up himself, but who cares - didn't stop Brisbane in the past few years.

I'm not saying that he plays just for himself. But when Goodes and Ricciuto shared the Brownlow, Roo said he was surprised as the Swans played like a band of brothers and it would be hard to single one out. I told Goodes and he was chuffed.

Rather than part of a band of brothers, I think Aker is his own brass band.

              I don't believe this rumour.

But I also don't believe the attitude of people saying they wouldn't welcome him to Sydney.

For all his flaws, as a footballer the guy is a genius and would be the gun midfielder that could turn us into a premiership side.

I know we are in a position to win this year but I can't see how Akermanis would weaken the team in any way.

But as I said, it will never happen.

                Um...

                Aker? Seriously?

I happen to like my Blue Collar team, just the way they are. It will break my heart to see anyone traded/released, so I'll deal with that when the time comes. But I don't see Aker coming to Sydney. Sure, he's a flashy player and he's not that old, but I don't think we need that.

I'd be doing some scouting in the country leagues for another Vogels, though. He was the find of the year. It's has been refreshing to see a slightly older and wiser player who has the skill and confidence to shine on-field.

But that's just my two cents worth.

This rumour has about as much credibility as a Grant Thomas interview, but if it was going to happen Barney Rubble would probably want two players at the development stage of ROK and NOG. Our midfield would go from blue collar to blue suede shoes

Anyone else notice just how built he is? Amazing to see a new kid on the scene, with no prior AFL experience, with all of the skills, sense and build of a third or fourth year player.

Surely there are more like him out there.
