    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Ablett seemed to get hurt late in the game too, but i was told that he came back on.

*Davis was good. We need to get the ball into his hands more often (derr!). He finally took a kick in too!
          *Tadhg was good.
*Jolly had a good first quarter.
*You'd like to think that with that many players having poor games at least one might pick up for next week?
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

              More positives..

1/Adelaide and Saints will fight it out with suspensions, melees and serious injuries.

2/We are a fit side and need more work.

3/We cannot play that bad again and should have won anyway at the hardest ground in Aus.

4/A game in Sydney and two more in Melbourne.

5/Surely we cannot get McLaren again!

              On a more serious note...

Kirk and Bolts C for effort
              Tadgh's running

And come on how proud are we of our effort?

                Courage.
                Determination.
All the players mentioned so far, plus the eternally youthful Ball, who was dead unlucky to get pinged in front of the sticks for a regulation ruckman's grapple when they were both doing it.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Blame the umps, blame the skill errors, even blame Bazza's poor game, but it wasn't the game plan that cost us the game. They created enough chances to score, but didn't take them - inability to hit a target inside 50 at times really killed us, and should have kicked more than 3 goals in the third quarter.

But then this is supposed to be a positives thread, SO....

                    * Our midfield is good enough to go all the way. Yes, Judd is a freak, and the likes of Kerr and Cousins found space far too easily, but our guys managed to peg them back whenever they looked dangerous, or at least stayed with them. Kirk, Willo and Fossie did pretty well, I thought.

                    * Nick Davis. 3 goals, along with some great second efforts. Split between him and O'Loughlin for our most effective forward.

                    * Schneider's coolness in the last qtr to set up one goal and kick another to keep our hopes alive.

                    * Kennelly. His run was terrific all night, and always looked dangerous. IF ONLY he had kicked that goal!

                    * That magnificent team goal that Davis kicked in the second. Took it the length of the field.

We exposed how crap the weagles forward line is.

In the AFL.com.au assessment of the game they caned Jolly and Ball but I thought they did a good job on Cox. He didn't dominate around the ground as he usually does and did against Spider Everitt when I saw them play live. They clearly beat Seaby when he was on.

No midfield would be able to contain the genius of Judd. He is like quiksilver. A joy to watch even when he is the opposition.

                        Fosdike did some classy things.

LRT's contested mark was great except for for the following kick. Within the space of 10 seconds I was cheering for the poor bloke and then devastated for him.

Dont know how could they kick a winning score at the MCG with that forward line. But that is their problem, not ours.

                            WE'RE THERE....THEIR NOT

After this weekend, name the 10 clubs that would love to be in our position.
We can still go all the way because we are hard nuts and always string multiple wins together following a close loss.
