Hall is not the right captain.

I think last night proved that Hall is not what we need as Captain. Maybe the responsibility or publicity is too much. He had a shocking game and is better concentrating on his own game. Ditto Goodes. Kirk is obviously best suited to be Captain. Rarely plays a bad game, covers more of the field and is much more level -headed.

Glass has always done well against Hall in the past, especially at Subi. Whether the captaincy affected him is unknown, but he did drop his head after missing a few marks.

This is what I thought when watching the game - but still, as the captain he should have been the one to lead by example. I'm sure he'll be the first to admit he had a shocker, maybe he put too much pressure on himself?

The delivery into the forward line wasn't the best either, not just to Hall but to O'Keefe as well. A lot of them were scrambled kicks giving Hall very little chance to mark it. The only exception being Buchanan's beautifully weighted assist to Hall.

he has one bad game and your calling for his head? he will bounce back this week, this is all part of bazza's learning curve as a skipper.

I'm not going to call for Hall to be relinquished of captaincy duties, but geez Kirky played well last night. His will to get the ball regardless of his own safety and well-being reminds me of a past Sydney captain and champion.

I personally don't think that Hall should be captain. How was he chosen anyway?

I will never run Hall down as he has come such a long way and is a fantastic role model to show to the testosterone fuelled boys at school as to how to manage anger etc.

Kirk has always been my favourite for Captain. His game last night was inspirational. What a showcase last night of the two ends of the spectrum. Sheer genius of Judd and the sheer guts and determination of Kirk.

We cant turn back now, at least until the final is over. Better is to see how Hall could improve as a captain. Leave the rest until the season is over.

I still think Kirk is a better choice.

Delivery to the forwards was shocking.

Glass played very well, but he did get away with some blatant chopping of arms.

Hall needs to learn (and I say this every year) how to take a mark in his hands in front of his face. He certainly seems to have improved relative to last year, but he keeps trying to take chest marks, which Glass was able to punch, or he too often spills the ones in his hands.

I think it's almost always better to have someone in the midfield as captain. First of all they're the focal point of the team, and while forwards may have a great game and kick a bag, the midifeld has ample opportunities to put their head over the ball in a courageous manner. I think there's more room for a midfielder to lead by example, and even if they're not getting their hands on the ball too often, there'd be more room for them to inspire others simply by getting to contests, tackling, perservering etc. I don't think the same can really be said for a forward having an off day.

I hope that just made some sort of sense...

Either way, we've got Bazza for the next few weeks, and I would be extremely surprised if he had two bad weeks in a row. Fingers crossed anyway. We shouldn't hang him before he's completely done his finals dash.

I can understand where you are all coming from - but who's to say that if Kirk was captain that he would have played as well as he did. He has had the odd quiet day too.

Give Baz a go - And lets face it Goodes wasn't that flash either.

We just dont know - and as devestating as it is (and I didnt sleep much) we have a second chance - it may work to our advantage.

If you remember we had the break in '03 and we still lost - Brisbane had to play each weekend of the finals series, and travel all over the show - and they won the flag.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

sorry - you win - I was just making an observation - Ok change the capataincy AGAIN - and I have no doubt Kirk would be a good leader - but the decision was made - live with it.

We've got Captain Baz for the rest of the season and I can live with that. I'd hope that it can be revisited afterwards though - Kirk would be my choice.
