The difference with us, is that we would be swapping one fringe player for another, which is where you can say the cost-benefit outcome would be virtually nil. Hence the "If it ain't broke don't fix it comment".

It is likely that we will have to beat 2 of these teams from 2 attempts to win the flag. So far this season we are 1 from 6, and have been belted 3 times (admitedly in the first half of the season). Some tinkering may be required. Malceski in for Williams maybe. McVeigh is not fit. Schauble for Vogels maybe...

Both Willo and Ablett are in doubt for next week's match - with thigh and leg injuries - so here's hoping they can both get through for next week's match.

Willo might have been slow in that first half but in the 2nd he had definitely lifted and was starting to get the better of Cousins and then he went and got a damn cork. *ugh*.

How could one call for Willo to be dropped ???

He is a champ and could be treated like one. If we need some pace in the midfield, Schneider must be moved in there. That is the reason why he is in the team. At worst, Malceski in for Schneider, that is all we need.

If we drop Willo, our chance for the flag is gone.

Geelongs midfield is not overly quick..............the only one with genuine leg speed is tenace and Garry Jnr when used in the midfield..........stick with the same team I say if all fit...........if Williams doesn't come up play Malceski

Would not drop Williams. I was thinking maybe Mal for Williams if he is injured. Williams is still amongst our best and I think him missing most of the last qtr Friday night had a lot to do with the loss.

I would prefer to bring Bevan in if Willo is injuried. Give us a more physical look with pace. The Cats prime movers are relatively young (compared to the Eagles) and they seem to be suspectible against close physical attention. Bevan pace means the physical attention is persistent and wont be losen even when they got a metre or two away from him.

Malceski gets the ball and gets rid of it, at times very nicely. Bevan runs into blokes and gets pinged for holding the ball. Let's try and win, not try not to lose.

If Bazza hadnt dropped 5 marks he would have usually swallowed we would have had it won at 3/4 time.

Stick with the blokes that have been good for the last 3 months.

too right no need for changes ..injuries is the only way anyone new should come in we have a nice team balance at the moment.
Wich is the only reason schauable (if thats the right spelling) can't get a game

In those 3 months we've lost to all other top 4 sides away. Current 22 capable of winning lots of games, but not an away final.

Fine tuning: Schauble (sp?) in, Vogels out.
Harsh on Vogels, but Roos obviously feels he doesnt get the matchup opportunities, so only gets 1/2 hours per game. Might as well have the more versitle (back and forward) Schaubs in IMO.
Another cool experienced head might just clinch it for us.

Only two changes this week.

One only if forced and that is either Malceski or McVeigh for Williams. For those saying that Willo looked slow, had a chance to look at the game again today and what Willo lacked in supposed leg speed made up in experience and canny knack of getting out of trouble in such a pressurised game. Geelong are very one paced in the midfield and Willo if fit should fit right into this type of game.

The other change maybe Vogels for Schuable. This is a decesion only Paul Roos can make. No doubt Vogels has been good for us over the last 6 weeks or so but on Friday night he panicked a few times and rushed his disposal and turned the ball over. Roos may feel that he has now got his first final out of the way and will be better for it. Otherwise we may just need the more experienced Schuable to play as an impact player up forward or pinch hitting defender. With three big defenders in Scarlett, Harley & Mooney we may need a decoy forward to try and seperate the three big defenders.

As it is, we are defensive enough. There is no point of getting any more defensive by swapping a forward (Vogels) with a defender (Schauble).

Those consider Schauble as a forward must have been watching a different game. His kicking is probably worse than LRT., he is very slow in getting rid of the ball. He is not mobile enough to cover the half forward line. He is not deadly enough to play near the square. Playing him in the forward line would hurt us more than it would hurt them.

Unless we uncover a better forward somewhere, Vogels must stay.
