No - but the free kick directly and unequivocally led to the loss.

No, but just because they are H&A games doesn't mean people don't complain about umpiring errors against us. The principle is the same.

My comment was a reaction to earlier comments about Stenglein 'cheating'.

Secondly, a QF is kind of important. I can't remember what happened to the Roos in the Cresswell year - did it affect them?
It did in the end - the difference between playing Melbourne or WC in the finals.

Thirdly, as your post and all those following have shown, we know he dived and that the Roos were robbed - where are the Eagles supporters admitting that they were lucky?
I don't recall anyone saying that the Roos were 'robbed'! Some Eagles supporters have admitted they were lucky - some are delusional.

Fourthly, I don't care about the Roos.
Understandable. But still... It's all about soul... er... principle!

To paraphrase a Premier League Football Manager in a post match interview I saw recently (sorry, don't remember who) -

If you're on the pull and you end up with an ugly one, you take her home. It was an ugly win, we would have liked a pretty one, but we'll take it.

Whilst I just dig myself out of this hole, I'll draw you the analogy - if you get a dodgy free kick, you take it without a second thought.

Three decisions sucked big time in that game, all awarded against us, two at a critical time in the last quarter. We all know the umps were wrong and most of us accept that it cost us the game. But we must move on. We have to stop trturing ourselves about what happened last Friday night and look fwd to this Friday night. When you hear that "Syyyyyyyyddneeeeyyyyyyyy" chant starting up from the direction of the Messenger Stand, cheer with me as we kill the Cats!
