Collingwood never wanted to let him go. They wanted a first round draft pick as a minimum for him, the Swans played hard ball because they knew it would be trade or lose him to the pre-season draft, Davo having arguably tainted the draft with comments about how he only would sign with Sydney if taken in the draft... the Magpies had to settle for the 2nd round option.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Watched the WAFL Prelim Final on Saturday. Rowan Jones for Claremont picked up 32 touches & kicked 3 goals. In last week's semi, he go 46 touches!

When he's played AFL for the Eagles he's looked the goods too, but can't get a regular game. Well worth a look I'd reckon.

Yes, the Eagles are probably totally unaware of his WAFL form. Will trade him for Schauble I reckon.

and Jones is the vice captain of the eagles. That's pretty stiff.

I think you'll find that's another Jones, nws such an unusual surname.

Yes, I'm sure the Eagles are aware that Jones, R. can play - doesn't mean they won't trade him if he's superfluous to requirements. Imagine they'd be happy to trade midfield star # 6 for someone who can take a mark inside 50.

Do they care about his conversion rate? If not, then maybe we can do a deal.

Not news but we need is a big, strong fullback to take pressure from Leo. Leo does a great job but I would like to seem him free to play on halfback line to provide his dash and run. Unfortunately those clubs who have this elusive fullback are not likely to trade. Still one can dream.

Still won't help Claremont beat South Fremantle (red & white) in the final, wait till you see the livewire Tipuamantamerri he would look great in a Sydney jumper can kick a miraculous goal and throws himself into contests and at 24 years most teams might pass him over in the draft if he nominates.
Another one who looked good from South is Clint Jones who has blistering pace and is 20 years.
These players helped put my team Subiaco (minor premiers) out of contention ultimately going down to Claremont.

We should target Jarryd Roughead for a trade. Not because of his super potential as a backman/forward but because he is the missing link to having the most players in a team with a differently spelt same pronounced first name.

                      Jarred Moore
                      Jared Crouch
                      Jarrad Mcveigh
                      Jarrad Sundqvist
                      Jarryd Roughead??

You think he would really fit into such a "really, really... really, rediculously good looking"** team as ours? Did you not hear about his Gospel Award?^^

** Ah, yet another 'Zoolander' quote...

^^ No disrespect to Mr Roughead or his family is intended.

what about james bartel? could he be the type of player that we're looking for in the midfield? i havent seen much of him but everyone seems to rate him and he's young

a trade would be tough but maybe buchanan and a 1st rounder.
buchanan is from down there right? but in saying that, i would be disappointed to lose buchy as he's been excellent this yr and he's one of me favourites

Bartel is a good player but I tend to think that he's a bit over-rated. I'd be happy to have him but I think that guys like Kelly & Corey are better players.

Buchanan & a 1st rounder would be too expensive but it's probably what the Cats would want. I would probably have taken that offer last year but Buchanan has probably been as good as Bartel this season.
