Or, for the budget traveller, you could catch the Skybus (runs every 15 mins) which will be affected by traffic in the same way as a cab and then catch a train from Spencer St station to either Jolimont or Richmond stations and walk from there...

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

I guarantee there will not be time to catch a train to Richmond. Spencer Street is being redeveloped, and very few suburban trains (and no City Loop trains) are going through there. You'd be extremely lucky to get one straight to Richmond at all... let alone getting one quickly.

No, No, No.....take a cab to North Melbourne Station and then a train to Richmond.

        The best by far.

Big problem would be how long you queue for a cab.

Pay a friend $60 to pick you up - or buy them a ticket....in fact if I'm not working and you pay for my ticket I'll pick you up and get you to the game on time I have a membership with GF preference but can't afford to go this week.

I arrive in Melbourne at 6pm. Anyone else want to share a cab?

Matt, you will make it. You could even go to the Lexus Centre for drinks.

Top dollar all day mate. That is why I'm flying from Newcastle. $7.50 concession up on the choo choo on Thursday night. Then a lift with the sparrows on Friday morning for my 7am Jetstar flight.
Still it sure helps having a happy smiling face to greet me at Williamtown upon landing these days.

The AFL should do something to make getting to finals matches more affordable for interstate fans. This time of the year is murder for one's budget, I tell you.

A little bit more notice and not changing the day on which some games are usually played would help.
