Whitnall is a useless, overpriced fat lump. I cant beleive is getting paid over $500k per year at carlton for doing ******** all. I'm sorry but if you are making twice the prime-minister's salary, you better be doing something special.

Plus, we need to spend our money on mid-feilders, not washed up forwards. We have enough potency in attack.

Mod edit - don't avoid the swear filter, please.

I'd much prefer Fevola if we're trying to off-load a problem from the Blues. If there is anywhere he is likely to reach his potential, it has to be Sydney, given the club's track record with problematic players.

yeah lance is an interesting one. if he pulled his finger out and went to the fat farm again then he might be worth a shot but it depends on how much money he wants. a new start may be good for him as he used to be a jet

as for fevola, i dont think we would want him, he has no ticker

Lance is Melbourne is Melbourne is Melbourne. He just isn't ready to leave the place.

He's a comfort zone boy who struggles outside of that.

I'd like Lance in the team if he was being paid the same as say Pebbles. But sadly Carlton have only ever thrown money at its problems meaning they have had to pay Lance big cash to keep him in the past, like Fev, like Kouta etc.

If Carlton had a genuine team culture built on selfless success like the Lions, like the Saints are creating, then Lance would have been on tradeable money.

He's too selfish and too expensive because that is the only culture he's known since he was 18.

                  No.

He is clearly asking for well over what he is actually worth, for someone who has been a gross disappointment for most of his career.

If Swans are going to throw around that sort of money to bring in a player make sure they are quality and have a long career ahead of them (like when we brought in Baz).

Whitnall would be good at the SCG but struggles on bigger grounds. Fevola is like a cancer in a club, he's not the quality person of a Hall who's completely turned himself and his football around.

Whitnall actually played a super game vs us this year - reminded just how good he can in fact be.

But doubt we'd value him as much as some others so we'd end up paying over the odds.

Fevola? I'd take Adam Heuskes or Glenn Bowyer before him - they'd be a better influence around the club.

                        Whitnal. Definately.

We will lose a valuable big man at the end of the year (Ball). So to keep team balance, another experienced tall coming in would be great.

                        Jolly/Doyle/Goodes rucking.

Whitnal could play CHB or CHF (With Hall at FF).
I wonder if he could ever hold down FB ?

Only if he plays in defence.

My knee-jerk reaction was no, but looking at his career stats: maybe if the deal was right.

Polak is the one, I don't know how they can do it but if he is on the market he will be the one we go for.

Maybe Saddington & Fosdike/Spriggs and our first draft pick to Carlton for Carlton to offload their 1st pick in the second round to Fremantle for Polak to Sydney. Would be a steal as Polak is probably worth a top 10 pick alone on potential.

Otherwise Lance would be a very handy pick-up if he was commited to playing as key defender. While not quick very smart and on the SCG would provide great coverage zoning off for the likes of LRT & Leo.

This analysis pretty well sums it up for me as well. He's Melbourne through and through, thinks too highly of himself, and is way beyond 'fair value' as opposed to other alternatives.
