I don't think I'd mind if McInerney came on - he'd be so conscious of not stuffing up that he might actually see some things our way.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Rd 7 v Essendon at Telstra Stadium when Mark Johnson used less 'delicate' language than that to Amon Buchanan and was paid a 50m penalty for his efforts.

Not much we can do. We get belted by the umpires every week so why would finals be any different.

Unfortunately the AFL's love affair with the Saints continues...

If this isn't further blatant AFL bias against Sydney then I don't know what is (maybe watering the ground).
If the AFL's main strategic thrust is into NSW and they can see the greeatest growth potential for the game here, why do they do this.?
Cant the AFL let the umpires into the plan?.
Or does our style of play just attract more penalties than the the rest? I dont see the Umpires going after the WA or SA teams like they do with the Swans.

Who umpired the round 10 game vs the Saints? For me, that was the worst umpiring performance of the season - which is certainly saying something.

Unfortunately, the only thing worse than the umpiring that day was the Swans.

The sad thing is McLaren and Ryan have preliminary finals and are ranked in the top 6.

Obviously the worse you perfrom the higher ranked you are!

If these 3 are in the top 6 then the umpire fraternity is really struggling.

There might just be a comp between them for the worst decision of the night.

Saints supporters hate Goldy and have a history of being the biggest whingeing mob of all time when it comes to umpires. Anyone recall the Moorabbin days.

They did not affect the outcome, although they paid a few soft ones to the Saints and missed a couple to us.

I thought McLaren and Vozzo were worse then Golodspink and thats saying something!

They very much did affect the outcome to three quarter time.

It was almost like some sort of sick joke. You could see Goldspink DESPERATELY trying to find important frees for the Saints and DESPERATELY trying to find a way to pay a goal with controversial dropped mark incident

They picked up the audio from the umps here and IMO Goldspink handled it well - he knew he was in no position to make a call on it, the goal ump was calling touched, and he basically told the boundary umpires "if you aren't sure I don't want to know".

I think they had a shocking 3rd quarter, and were blowing the whistle for just about anything. Even worse for us, they were missing quite a few that were there for us too.

By the looks of it Roos asked Bazza to run over and simply say "Just put the ********ing whistle away and let us decide whose better ourselves!"

And funnily enough, I think they listened.
