Bugger Crawford (and some might), I'd rather get Spider in a trade, especially with Ball retiring. Like most here, I wouldnt want to trade Ablett. How about Saddo and Benny for Spider, although I'm not sure that Spider is available. I did note that Spider and Bazza had a friendly chat at the end of the Hawthorn game.

What the...I shouldnt be talking trade until the season is over!

Saddo + our second round pick for Crawford with the Hawks to continue to pay $250,000 of his reputed $750,000 would be a do able deal.

As for people saying he would not move to Sydney, I think Crawford has finally realised that the only thing he wants to finish off his career is a premiership and while he agonised over it last year he has realised Hawthorn is not going to be able to deliver it in the next 2 to 3 years. So therefore he is willing to go anywhere that has a realistic shot.

For some players 31 would be an absolute no no, but with someone like Crawford who prepares himself so well he could be playing for another 2 to 4 years like Buckley.

Word in the paper is that George Stone has had a couple of chats to Crawford privately about his future plans before he left for holidays last week.

Gee, I tell you if Crawford was playing in our team on Friday night I reckon the rest of the footy world be giving us a real chance to knock off the Saints.

So there is no chance he will come to Sydney then.

I would have thought 2 years of top 4 finishes and another in the top 6 would place us in the teams Crawford would see as having a realistic chance.

Also have to think that both West Coast, Adelaide or St Kilda have the midfielders and would not be interested in a player like Crawford.

If he does want to move to win one, we would be in the top 3 or 4 choices, as we could use a player of his ability and style at present.

So does that mean we will get better coverage on the footy show each week if crawford becomes a team member?

if we did get him, it better not turn out like tingay or daffy. i'd be sooky lala if we gave up ablett for him but agree about saddo and a 2nd rounder

he could be a valuable addition to the side

We don't need at 31 year old who has been carrying injuries. We are a footy club not a halfway house to retirement. Develop kids. If he has much to offer why would Hawthorn let him go and why would he leave Melbourne. Leave him in Melbourne and his beloved Footy Show.

I don't care where he goes, as long as its not Sydney.
I fail to see that he has anything to offer, whereas Ablett
                        has been developing nicely.
