    Our Chances Against Brisbane

Brisbane haven't really got into top gear the last 2 games

We are playing well and our opponents are due for a loss

They are a brilliant side but have to lose sometime this year ?

We are playing at home and hopefully a full house (mothers day?)

If all 22 lads can give 100% for the full game we are a chance

Question do they have the self confidence?

We must be a chance - but will be a tough ask.

How can we close down the fab 4?

Who can we play on Lynch.

    Certainly they are the benchmark

We're on a roll, the boys will surely be so much more positive than they were before this weekends game. That has to be a good start!

Mothers Day in Sydney? Doesn't that usually mean everyone stays home with their mothers. Where as in Vic everyone takes there Mums to the game.

(Well, I always did before she moved two days drive away)

Agree, stupid day for a game. But we dont usually get many for brisbane, so no great loss.

Normally we would get slaughtered when we play Brisbane, even if we took the best bits of Carlton, Collingwood, and Melbournes last quarter.
But there is a pattern in this year. If the other side has a quality ruckman, we struggle. (Or an extremely tall ruckman).
Brisbane have not only McDonald but Keating as well. But both dont seem to be playing so we are some very small chance this week. I doubt Lynch will play, so I think Bolton would easily hold Bradshaw, just because he knows his style.

I am not confident at all though. Its one we penned as a loss at the start of the year, and at best it should have been pencil.

our chances of beating brisbane are...

much better than they were looking at 3/4 time against melbourne.
Since then we look much better, and with brisbane having a few injury concerns and that they havent lost at all this year which suggests they may lose one soon, the game being at the SCG etc, this is almost the best time to meet brisbane, probably wont get a better shot at beating them.

I feel the guys will give it their best shot and hope they certainly do.
Would love to beat Brisbane - Geelong came close - but may of been because Lions had many injuries.

What a Mother's day gift that would be for me!
              Love those Swans

The Cats, bottom of the ladder, gave Brisbane a fright this week. We are playing better than most of the teams the Lions have played so far this year, and self - belief will get us over the line. We have younger, faster players, and Brisbane may be like an unstoppable blitzkrieg of a team, but they can be beaten with brains and speed. Our newly blooded players are doing themselves proud, and the team proud.

                  Just kick straight!!!!!

The answer to this question lies in the answer to another.

Are we playing above ourselves in the last two weeks or are we capable of doing this week in week out???

Brisbanes win yesterday makes one thing patently clear, they don't need to be firing 100% to win games whereas we on the other hand have to be pretty much 98% + (not too many passengers on Saturday).

If we play like we did on Sat. we should win, but all it takes is for any 2 or 3 guys to be a little bit off and we are gone.
Biggest positive is the impact of the new guys, which will do wonders for our depth over the coming months, being able to cover for injuries and form.

I always like to think that all the games we play are winnable, but this isn't one of them. I think that we'll be competitive for some of the game at best.

Whereas Melbourne totally capitulated in the last qtr, and Collingwood was a great game (much better than the game against Carlton, who are rated considerably less than the Pois), the Lions really know how to play awesome footy and their more experienced players can turn any match into a clinic.

I think that this is a good game for the younger guys to get the opportunity to play against the best going around atm. Invaluable experience imo.

on Sunday Darryl White said it would be a tough game, from how we played against Collingwood.
From this, we have a chance but i am not confident as it is Brisbane, it will either be close or we'll get our butts totally kicked

Of course he'll say that, unlikely to come out and say " I think the Lions will kill the Swans this week".

In total agreeance with you, we're in excellent from, Brisbane are due for a loss, as long as Nicks comes back in to the line up, we are a big chance. If we can stop Voss to a degree ( a big task i know) then we're half way there.

We must win the ball in the midfield and play the brand of footy that we did on saturday night to win.

As for the people who believe we are no chance well you should have more faith.

If they get it right (big call) we might just come away with a win.
