    Enjoy it

Make sure you enjoy this week folks. I remember how good '96 GF week was. Just enjoy every minute of this week and do everything you possibly can, because this sort of stuff doesn't come around very often.

Exactly mate, just beat me in posting something similar.

I was 16 in 1996 and 7th in line outside the SCG, the Saturday night after we defeated Essendon in the prelim. I was a few behind Peter.H and spent the night kicking a footy.

The week was an absolute blur leading up to the GF and well waking up on GF morning was something special.

I guess what I am trying to say is that back then I just thought the GF would come around again the next year and year after that BUT finally 9 years later I will get to experience it all again and soak it all up.

Enjoy every moment Swans fan (with or without Barry Hall), let that take care of itself. We can win either way and wow, hop on board because this week is going to be the ride of your life!

    GO SWANS!!

I'm currently wishing I was a sydneysider so i could feel all the tension and excitement that this week is going to be all about. There is a bit of it building here in Canberra, i saw a lot of people at the shops today in freezing temperatures wearing their guernseys proudly!

That's why I am going this time. I am going to make the most of it. When my girls were young I was the dutiful wife and mother and put everyone else first. This time I'm going for it and making something happen.

I am not going gently into that good night. I am going to make the most of this opportunity and must thank a lot of you on this board for giving me the confidence to do it.

Satchmo - Erin told us on Friday night that you were coming over for the game - hope we get to meet you at some stage.

Aussie Ange was on Channel 7 news last night - which was hilarious and from the moment the final siren went on Friday night - the excitement levels have increased.

So once we have secured some tickets, then we can concerntrate on getting down there and having the time of our lives.

so excited - I think my boss realises that I wont be worth a squirt this week!

I have asked for Friday Monday & Tuesday off without pay. Am dreading that they won't grant it to me.

I tend to just keep to myself at work during finals time. They just don't get how important this all is. And how torturous the days leading up to these matches really are. They are more interested in talking about the latest Thai restaurant or their recipe for Nachos with avocado.

But if Josh from the Telegraph calls again and wants to do another photo shoot or whatever, they'll start getting the enormity of everything I guess.

Well being the forward planner that I am - I put in for Friday and Monday off about 8 weeks ago - My boss just laughed and said "but there is a conference I want you to attend on the Friday" but he just laughed and said that he knew his life wouldnt be worth living if he declined my leave. He also said that I was thinking way too far ahead - how wrong can ya be?

He also approved the follwoing Friday off (the B & F dinner) so as I can get the hair done and do "all that girlie @@@@" that goes with a night out in the posh frock.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

Well i said when i moved to Melbourne this year my highlight will be experiencing the grand final parade with the swans being there.

I have not taken off my scarf one bit. I have gone shopping with it on i have walked down chapel st with it on gone to sleep with it went out to dinner with it on last night.

My girlfriend who has now adopted the swans as her new love (collingwood supporter) drove me through Claredon St on Friday night after the game to the lakeside oval where we both got out pumped cheer cheer really loud and we both sang it hugging each other with tears streaming down my face! I even knelt down and had a silent prayer.

She works in South Melbourne as do i and we are going to deck our work places in swans stuff.

I really was over whelmed by this old lady who had an original south top on and bawling her eyes I was just so happy for her!

I am so happy i have moved down to Melbourne in the right year!!!!!

If we win the flag...god knows what i will be doing..but this week i am lapping everything up.

Already enjoying it greatly. Made arrangements with my Golf Club to fly Swans flag from flagpole on Saturday. It should be noted it is hard to play golf in a club scarf but it can be done. Can't wait to start the roadtrip south on Thursday. Looking forward to every moment. Go the bloods.
I missed '96 so this is brilliant.
