In The Age this am - not confirmed yet.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

The AFL has named Scott McLaren, Brett Allen and Darren Goldspink as the three field umpires for Saturday's Grand Final between West Coast and Sydney.

What are the odds McLaren, and Goldspink both have to pull out (ok wishful thinking I know)

McLaren's a real blow. The (deserved) spray Barry gave him at three quarter time will not stand us in good stead. At best McLaren's incompetent, at worst he's a cheat that carries grudges.

Just got to accept we'll get nothing at all on Saturday....but what elese would you expect from AFL house when it comes to the Swans.

              I can feel a square-up coming on!!!!

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

It's official and it sucks. We are carrying more weight than Phar Lap. I hope it's a dry track.

They were ********house until 3/4. Agreed.

But I reckon they did well in the last quarter, basically cos they put thier whistles away and didn't need to do anything.

Hopefully the AFL will tell them to do the same so the game is free flowing.

Okay, deep breath. Allen is fine. And Goldspink wasn't too bad in the Cats game though he was back to his usual last Friday. But McLaren is a disaster for us. If we want to do a whip around I'll drop it into the umpires' association on Friday (like Hird). Or if you want to let your feelings be known, write to: http://www.aflua.com.au/feedback/.

Can anyone who does write to them let us know here. Not what you say, unless you want to, but just that you have so we have some idea of the numbers.

This is a joke. We were crucified by McLaren and Goldspink last week.

                        *Sigh*

We beat the Saints while those bastards were officiating and we can beat West Coast too.

Vozzo would have to consider himself unlucky.

Very true NMW..seems a case of some getting special treatment when it comes to appointments, can't recall any blatantly wrong decisions from Vozzo during the final series

I find this staggering. I'm shocked that the Swans didn't go to the AFL & say these two umpires (McL & G) are non-negotiable for the GF. The evidence should have been overwhelming.

Allen has crucified us just as much as the other two donkeys.

                                This is our worst nightmare.
