Under no circumstances should our usual back 6 be tampered with now. So there is a snow flakes chance in hell of Leo Barry being asked to play CHF, unless we are 6 goals down with 10 minutes to play and Roos is throwing up wild options to steal it.

Rotten luck for us and Vogels as he would have been the obvious choice, failing that Schuable or Saddington would be considered.

I would also then consider Malceski coming in for Bevan as we will need to find some further run in the centre and off half back if Goodes does need to play forward more.

How we would all love an Adam Goodes special like that in Adelaide this year and the 2003 QF.

IMO, best options for CHF is Hall doesnt play are O'Keefe, Goodes or Schauble (where he has played in the 2's and kicked bags of goals). But let's hope this isnt a decision that has to be made, lets hope that Hall plays.

After last weeks best on ground performance, give it to the wild child Johnny O'Keefe and let him lead hard up the ground and delivering to Magic all day, he may not be intimidating like Hall, but he'd be miles better than bringing in Schaubs, while i have nothing against him, he's been playing in a comp about as good as the the Ballarat 3rd's.

        Vote 1 O'Keefe

Yes but if Hall is ruled out we have to bring someone in preferabbly a tall so why not schauble?

O'Keefe is the man to step up to CHF. He plays a similar role now anyway. Shauble would come into the 22.

But I still think Hall will play as the charge is incorrect.

ball joining oloughlin okeefe and davis in the forward line with goodes helping jolly in the ruck might work.

If BBBH getting suspended is the cruellest cut, then Vogels getting badly injured (an Achilles means that his 2006 campaign won't start on time) is the second-cruellest.

The lawyers and team management will do what they can, but the team has to proceed from here on the assumption that he won't be playing. We can cry all we like, but this situation is just bad luck, like it would be just bad luck if he'd broken his leg against the Saints.

LRT will be in the team anyway, so can always be swung forward if required. The structure will (and should) change, e.g. I strongly believe that Jolly (being the younger, faster ruckman) should spend at least part of his time off the ball in the forward line. The role that Goodes will play in the team is likely to be significantly different. All of that stuff is for Roos to discuss and prepare with the 21 players who will definitely be playing.

However, in terms of selection, we need to add a tall to the team. Of the theoretically 'fit' players available, the tallish ones are Saddington, James, Schauble and Powell.

I have more chance than Heath of getting picked given that his injury issues appear to be chronic, Powell has frankly has shown nothing yet to indicate he could wander in and acquit himself well on the biggest stage (and is only marginally tall enough anyway), and picking Saddo would be an extraordinarily brave move given that his knee status is listed as 'test' and he has a recent lack of game time at any level. Where we play Schauble is another issue, but it's hard to avoid the conclusion that we need to pick him.

Saddington to come in. THen Ball, Jolly, Goodes, Saddington to all rotate between Ruck, Forward, midfield etc.

With the injuries in the ressies, I think that Schauble is likely to come in and go forward. He's been playing there for a few weeks and there's no-one in the Swans who knows better how to wrestle in the goal square. Pebbles needs to run - being bottled up by Glass would be like having him in the stands, too.

Goodes HAS to stand up this week. His team needs him - and he can play the running part of Baz' game.

Changing the backline now would gift the Eagles the flag. We already needed to get a tall forward to match Cox in defense and another back against the Eagles talls. So both Jolly and Ball may spend more time on the ground together this week.

If you want to see how good Roos is as a coach, this is the test.

Funny, when Baz looked likely to be suspended last year I couldn't see how the team could win without him. This week, when the stakes are infinitely more important, I think we can.

Anyway, I hope by tomorrow night Baz is in the team again.

I'd prefer Schauble to Saddington up forward.
