You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

Well to get the charge down graded he has to plead not guilty.

Can I have a link to the story.

Not sure about that one - I'm thinking* it would have been safer to plead guilty but have the charge down graded to 'in play'.

But if he pleads not guilty, then doesn't he have to answer to all the charges? Harder to prove?

Pleading guilty would give little wiggle room in higher courts.

Its not proof we are worried about, its all there on camera, all we have to do is convince the tribunal that the hit was negligent rather then reckless.

The process (in Melb) has been to prejudiced - he cannot get a fair hearing in Melb and the AFL

How can so many get off for similar incident (as Blight points out Prejudice against Sydney ).

They should go outside the process ASAP

Adrian Anderson should get sacked (he is utterly hopeless)

Is pleading not guilty to the charges made mutually exclusive with pleading guilty to lesser charges?

Is this decision closing the door on the most likely way of playing on Saturday? I hope not.

Though it will depend on the rules of the tribunal, I would expect not. Think in terms of murder/manslaughter. Hall is saying that he is not guilty of the charge before him, which was 1+2+3+4. That is not inconsistent with being guilty of 1+2+3+5, or 1+2+3.

But more important... will he get the 25% discount?

Just watched "On the Couch" and what makes me even more infuriated is the fact that the match review panel deemed Gasper's elbow to the head of McGregor to be negligent and not reckless. And yet a tap to the (we do not know conclusively where) is given as reckless.

Mike Sheahan and Healy think that this is where he will get off. They think the charge will be downgraded from reckless to negligent and thus will escape suspension.
                              Swannies for life!
