When they have to fit 4 games in, it's definately going to be an early start. Not sure why they're playing the 2nd division before the U18s, I guess it's so the St George people only have to be there for 3 games without a gap from 10-12.
(If that's the reason it makes logistical sense, and I hope that's all it is rather than a feeling that 2nd division is below the U18s. I guess we'll find out as the season unfolds if it becomes a regular thing).

Fair enough about keeping St George matches together, but they could bring them all forward and play the division two match at the end of the day. I think UNSWES did this at least once last year at the Village Green. (When the Bulldogs played the Crows in Ryan Underwood's first game after switching).
I was there that day and didn't stay long enough, but I know there was a Div2 Bulldogs team warming up while the seniors were playing.

This isn't trying to pump up Div2, although heaven knows it needs it, it's just trying to work out why open age footballers would need to be in the rooms at 7am.
Unless they're also trying to give the Reds a chance to get out to Greygums to see the SU seniors play against Penrith?

They've done that a few times at the Village Green - a couple of times I've covered games there and they've put on a Div 2 twilight game after the premier division game's finished.
That wouldn't be an option at Drummoyne because it doesn't have lights. The other alternative would be to play the premier division game at 12 noon to fit in a game after it.

Thankyou Norris,my feelings wont change. We wanted the bye for a few reasons,i'll tell ya later. Its been a long wait, but finally we know what we're doing. We are THAT hungry its not funny, been training the house down, and we are fitter than last year(the main difference being,we know what comp we are in,and we didnt play any trial footy last year,so our first 3-4 games were trials as such. This year we played Gaelic-still sore from that-and a strong hitout against SWS)Cant wait to find out who we play 2nd Rd,but until then,we'll wait and see,and hit the tackle bags some more.Keep your eye on the white and the blue.....

                    Finally!

Though won't be able to come to the second round jets game for a look (damn weddings getting in the way)

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

I agree,a week off.Round 12 looks good.Dogs left Bensons Lane last year cold and disappointed, after the Hawkesbury Doctor kicked up one of its unique storms.Turned it into a good old fashioned slugfest, although dry conditions would've been nice. But Doctors orders.Looking forward to every game, not just Rounds 9 & 12.What interest do you hold in Div 2?
