Well Ash, it seem the other post have not hit home but we can explain again.

Rounds 1 to 10 are selected at the beginning of the year. The idea is to share the match of the round amongst as many teams as possible (as they are all involved in covering for the expenses asscoiated with putting together the coverage, as you may be aware, it doesn't all happen for free), seems only fair to me, but that might just be me. It would also make teams happy with regards to sponsors I am sure.

Round 11 onwards are actual "match of the rounds" that can sometimes be affected by ground suitability and facilities.

What you have suggested should go close and includes the teams in contention.

And even I could question your own selection in Round 18 when other games include Penno V North Shore and Wests V Campbelltown just to name one round.

Round 18s match of the round should be Penno V Northshore as it will probably have a bigger impact on the finals positions.

But as for sharing the matches around in the first 10 rounds.......
How can three teams get 3 match of the rounds and another get 1?????? Does not sound like there was much time spent on the choosing.

I just hope for all us fans of NSW afl that the right games are chosen for the rest of the season.

Johnno good to see only one round was questionable. Penno will smash Norths who will not be in final contention at rd 18. Only way NOrths get close in this game is if Penno have 2nd place wrapped up and rest their top 21 players.

Wests v Campbelltown- fair enough. This or the Gong v Crows will be fights for 4th spot.

By the way, I noticed Crows only had 1 game in first 10 rounds where some sides have had 3. Is that because of the covering of expenses as they were in th etop 2 until this week?

As I also noted some grounds are more suitable than others.

As for Penno smashing Norths in Round 18, obviously your memory doesn't extend to last season, and no I don't support the bombers, just pointing to the facts.

And as they say, "why bother knockin' when no-ones home".

No one said it's a perfect solution, just stating the facts Ash.

Obviously noone home as your scheduling of first 10 rds depicts. (if you actually have a say in it)

As for "last year" who cares. Norths will not figure this year in finals. Full stop.

Who do you go for if not Norths nor StGeorge?

Going purely on the results that I see in the SydAFL tipping comp on this site it is obvious that Ash knows plenty about what is going on in Sydney Footy. I do beleive that after round 8 Ash has a total of 12. Going by Ash's posts it is obvious that he would have picked Penno each week giving 5 points leaving another 7 correct from 27 games.
It is not overly difficult to pick the matches of the rounds for the rest of the year now as there is a form line to go on that is not available at the start of the year. It is sort of like picking the winner of a horse race 100m from the post, you will get it right most of the time. It is a little harder when you are trying to pick the winner of a mid week 2 year old event at Kembla.
The games that Ash has picked for the rest of the year may well be what you would think will be the best games but this does not mean that they will go as expected. Eg. who at the start of the year would have picked the Campbelltown v North Shore game would have been close let alone the Kanga's winning (Kangacoach excluded).
I am sure you will have some explanation for all this Ash but like you others are entitled to their opinion.

Firstly Jacks, and obviously u r on pills, and not the good kind, I only submitted tips past few rounds.

Secondly, it was easy to gauge the close games after 2 rds of results and knowing the in and outs of players this season.

As for Norths and C'Town, the only surprise is that C;Town didnt win by more as Norths dubiously got the points v Crows and won v Balmain who are strongly undermanned at present.

My apologies Ash you obviously now more than most of the people on this site give you credit for and your ability to predict the future should not be questioned.
I was of the belief that Norths were only 10 points down when the count was called and well in the game rather than only getting the points because of the count however I was not at the game so probably should not comment to much on it as I do not know exactly what was happening at the time.
However commenting blindly on things you do not know everything about seems to be your strong suit so feel free to continue to question why certain games are being televised in front of others because it seems that no matter how many people try to explain to you the criteria for the selection of games you either do not understand or do not care. I will not try to simplify it any more than Johnno and BMR have done as it obviously doesn't get through. I am sure that most people around Sydney Footy understand the reasoning behind the selections and also understand that the second half of the year will hopefully give us some close matches.
As Johnno said your selections are probably not far off and it will be interesting to see how much better, if any, these games are, because as we all know football is an unpredictable monster.
Until there is sufficient funding to film all games on a weekend we will continue to have the situation where blowouts occur.

What you seem to be missing Ash is that Johnno, BMR and myself do not necessarily disagree with you when you say that the broadcast game each week is not always the best game of the weekend. What we are trying to do is provide you with the information that enables you to understand why the different games are selected.
As we have said, at this stage the Clubs and thier sponsors subsidise the production of the broadcast and therefore are entitled to have their teams featured a minimum number of times.
If anyone in the Sydney Football community could find a sponsor to come up with the finances to cover these production costs and provide some remuneration for the band of volunteers that help each week to put the show to air they would then be entitled to influence the scheduling and possibly use your model.
Like everything else it is not always what is best but more what the money says is best.
As this has been explained reviously I don't expect it to sink in this time either.

We should enjoy any games on Fox Footy channel because from what ive read the channel wont be available next year due to cost.

AFL games will be shown on Fox Sports 3, which is launched October 1.
