    Phelan Medal

What a joke, what was that old saying?
It's not what you know it's who you know!
"I know they are Martians Sheed's but really how the hell couldn't anyone poll more votes???
    Lose by 100.................
I guess I can make a comeback and just run around by myself!!
Abbot must feel bad, commiserations to Matty Withers, Richo and Calloupas.
    You must be embarrassed.

please don't keep us in suspense any longer ... who won the respective medals? Sounds like Luffy did - for what its worth he played an amazing game against the Lions in the 2nd last round & definitely deserved the 3 votes that day.
See me run a marathon again as a leprechaun?

Geez, H&T you sound a little jealous and bitter... You should turn that frown upside down...

        ........

Congrats to Luffy, well deserved. He was fantastic this year for our club and was almost up there with Kefalas...

Good luck to all the ECE & Penno boys this weekend!!!

From Memory the top 3 was:

            Luff 21
            Calloupas 20
            Dugmore 16

Big effort from Loopy considering he went o/s for a few weeks during the season.

The full list is not available yet, but Troy Luff did indeed win his second Phelan Medal.

Luff polled 21 votes to defeat Eagle Jason Coulloupas by just one vote on 20, while St George's Peter Dugmore finished third on 19.

In First Division Southern Shark Jason Philp took out the Snow Medal while UNSWES Bulldogs' David Backler won the Armstrong Medal in Second Division.

The NAB Rising Star was deservedly won by Western Suburbs youngster David Linsen and the rep player of the year was Alistair Richardson.

Penno's Hayden Benger won Premier Reserves, Willoughby's Brydon Coles the 18s Premier Cup, Balmain's Hamid Mangal the 18s Challenge Cup and Sydney Uni's Samah Issa the First Division Reserves.

              Well done to all winners.
"It's up to the rest of the players in the room to make a new batch of premiership players next year," Adam Goodes, triple Bob Skilton Medallist, October 7, 2011.

Congrats Luffy - one of a handful to not only win the phelan twice but to win a phelan at two different clubs - Leigh Campbell & Graham Jones are those from my time in the league.

Congrats to Jason, who I believe could have polled even better had he not offered as much 'advice' to the umpires

Also would like to mention Jason Allie from South West Sydney, who finished second in the Snow just one behind Philp. Due to a couple of injuries and draw anomalies he actually played 4 less games than the winner, which highlights the presence he had in our side, and the influence he had on games.
I hear not what you say, for the thunder of who you are.

Woodsy J would be a walk up start in any side in Sydney but thankfully he has remained with us for the past few years thanks to friends at the club.
