    Fixtures?

Where are the fixtures for the Sydney AFL next year? Surely they should be out by now?

Are you sure your looking all in the right places? They've been out 2 months ago! Or even more!

No fixtures for this year yet. Hopefully it won't be too far away - it was late January last year when they came out so they're probably planning to do the same again.

is2SWaNz, the fixture William Wallace is waiting for (and so am I, and most of the regulars on this board), is the fixture for the local Sydney AFL competition. Although hopefully the Sydney AFL will take note of is2SWaNz's link and ensure the Sydney AFL finals don't clash with Swans' home games again.

ok then i ask another question....... is there or will there be another pre season comp like the villies pies comp and or will any one take it upon them selves to create one... or would that get knocked on the head due to the condtion of grounds...... surely a nsw based pre season comp would get a bit of attention... open to newcastle, canberra and who has taken over from our best friend at nsw afl from bp?????????

There is the International Rules day between the NSWGAA clubs and a selection of Sydney AFL clubs - NSWGAA have yet to decide on a date.

I reckon they will put on a great day this year.

I also recommend a matc between the Sydney AFL rep team and the NSWGAA side at the end of the year.

              Rooster (Regarding BP)

              Rooster,

Further to your enquiry as to who is to replace BP at the Sydney AFL, I have it on good authority that the league is currently training a chicken to commence employment very shortly

                          Some features of the draw:

                          * The home & away season has 18 rounds, with each team playing each other team twice.
                          * North Dalton Oval now has lights, and Wollongong will host 2 night games in 2007 - v St George in round 1 and v Campbelltown in round 15.
                          * Newly-promoted Sydney Uni have 3 games on the road to start the season, before their first home game in round 4.
                          * East Coast Eagles have home games split between 4 venues - 3 matches at Rosedale Oval, 3 at Sydney Showgrounds, 2 at Henson Park and the Hills derby at Charles McLaughlin.
                          * 2 of the 3 games at the Showgrounds are on Saturday afternoons when the Swans are playing at Telstra Stadium that evening. A football feast for Sydney Olympic Park.
                          * With Sydney Uni promoted, there are 10 teams and the bye is eliminated.
                          * The June long weekend is set aside for rep football, no club games are scheduled.
                          * Round 12 is a split round, played on 7th and 14th July.
                          * Saturday night football at Henson Park continues, with 6 matches scheduled.
                          * UNSW-ES return to the Village Green for 2007.
                          * All finals will be at Henson Park.
                          * The grand final will be on Saturday 15th September.

The opening round fixtures are played on Saturday 14th April:
Drummoyne Oval - Balmain v East Coast Eagles
Gore Hill Oval - North Shore v UNSW-ES
Ern Holmes Oval - Pennant Hills v Western Suburbs
Monarch Oval - Campbelltown v Sydney University
North Dalton Oval - Wollongong v St George (6:30pm)

According to the draft First Division draw, South West Sydney have temporarily dropped back to Second Division, leaving only seven teams in Div One. There will only be 14 games with each team having three byes.
