sydney afl web site has reported that st george has been stripped of its win against the gong due to playing a suspended player.
could this be the start of the rot for the leaders?
Great to see the champion numnber 9 running around again for the dons. Go RAMA. What a champion to overcome what he has had to go through. the DONS to be a real threat for the finals. GO THE DONS.
It's a big blow for the Crows, that's for sure.
Was there an attempt to clarify whether the suspension included interleague or the washout, Shearer, or did you guys just assume it did?
And does Lowry have to miss tonight to make it three?

Would anyone care to comment on the law that allows suspended players to count representative games as part of their suspension? If this remains the case doesn't it open us up for future issues such as this? In my opinion it should be home and away games only as that's what the majority of us play for. I think it's ridiculous to think that rep games count as part of a suspension.
For the record though, could not have happened to a nicer bunch of @@@@@s and they really need to look at the top as fish sticks from the head down!

Its certainly not the first time that this has happened. Gambers served a one match suspension a few year back by missing a rep game (the suspension did cost him the phelan though).
I know he played. And he played well. The question still stands though. Was the fact St George lost points counted as his third week, or have he and the Crows made the same mistake twice?

Rooboy you seem to be extremely quiet after these recent events have unfolded regarding St George being stripped of the win. Its about time you shut that gob of yours, seeing that its only ever @@@@ that comes out of it

I agree with that. He was suspended for an incident in a club game, so that's where his suspension should be served. As well, because the suspension was handed out before the final team was picked, it was probably a bit presumptuous to pre-empt the selectors (although had he been available and I'd been a rep selector I would have picked him).
The other thing they could have tried in the hearing was the defence that his suspension was for the next 3 rounds as were scheduled at the time of the hearing, ie rounds 8-10, and therefore he was clear to play in round 11 - that when round 9 was postponed his suspension was postponed with it. But if they're going to try that one at the appeal they can't play him this week.
