Grand Final Tips

Seniors: North Shore have momentum and confidence against the Crows from their big win in the last round - St George's tactic of resting those players may backfire - Bombers by 9 points
Reserves: If East Coast plays as well as they did the first time they met the Demons they will win. If they play as they did against them in the second semi they are no chance. Somewhere in between. Eagles by 12 points.
Thirds: Willoughby have been undefeated all year but Penno came close in the second semi final and have inside knowledge that undefeated teams are not unbeatable - will go to the wire and depends on how many senior Demons are able to drop back. Wildcats by 10 points.
Apologies to Penno and St George, but all games are well and truly 50-50 - the way grand finals should be."It's up to the rest of the players in the room to make a new batch of premiership players next year," Adam Goodes, triple Bob Skilton Medallist, October 7, 2011.

The last few years we've had a clear favourite and an underdog, and usually the underdog has sprung the upset. This year it looks a much more even contest - only 1 win separated the two sides in the home & away series, they had one win each against each other. The St George side that plays on Saturday will be a lot stronger than the side that played last time the two clubs met; and I'm expecting a close contest.
Last year there was an omen in First Division when the previously undefeated Sydney Uni went down in the grand final; and a week later East Coast Eagles were to suffer the same fate. Could we have extra time on Saturday?
I'll tip North Shore by a point, but not with any degree of confidence.
In the under-18s, the Wildcats have been undefeated all season and I'll tip them to take the cup. In the reserves, the Eagles have beaten Penno in the last round but Penno turned the tables in the semis; that's another one that could go either way but I'll tip the Eagles to go back-to-back.
But there's three games that are very much up for grabs; and much better conditions than last year's quagmire are forecast. Should be a great day of footy.Last edited by Norris Lurker; 11 September 2007, 09:53 PM. Reason: forgot the result of a game from 2 weeks ago - must be going mad in my old age.

And hopefully it stays fine and warm all week so we can get a lot of cars in and parked on the hill. It would create a great atmosphere. Even the half a dozen on first semi final day looked great."It's up to the rest of the players in the room to make a new batch of premiership players next year," Adam Goodes, triple Bob Skilton Medallist, October 7, 2011.

William I think you are close in the first two but I'm going to SPOIL your day with the third.North Shore 1st 18 in the 18s will SPOIL Penno's day. I have a feeling that the First Grade is going to be last man standing. I'm really looking forward to Livy on Cole! And there's always Captain Cutebit gracing the bench. No doubt the bench will be strong........ for St George that is! Will the navy go into a WAR ZONE! I think Wednesday night could be standing room only. What do you think Booza?SpoilerComment

It did look good. Are the parrots at league HQ going to allow poeple to park up there for the GF? (assuming good weather)Comment

It was Garry Burkinshaw's doing. He comes from the Riverina, same as me, and knows just how great it looks to have cars ringing the ground and to have the horns going off when someone kicks a goal.
If the weather is good, I'm certain he'll be doing everything in his power to have them up there again.
Bit unsafe last Sunday unfortunately I would have thought."It's up to the rest of the players in the room to make a new batch of premiership players next year," Adam Goodes, triple Bob Skilton Medallist, October 7, 2011.
