"PS Make sure that ye show up for the representative match between the Sydney AFL side and the NSWGAA side on October 18 at Mahony Oval, Marrickville. I expect a ripper of a game."

When was this game thought of and who has been selected if this match is even real? i've never heard of it!

also, sydney afl just proved to the country again that it is the lowest of the state comps with another ptiyful display of football. from what ive seen..any other side in a state comp would beat the premiers of the sfl.

This match has been promoted on Sydney AFL website for awhile now.

I believe that the squad is being announced this week & training will start Oct 2 for it.

I don't have enough of stats to give you a reliable answer to this one. I do know that it is fairly regular occurence (ie every 5 years) for the one club to have representation in all 3 grades but I don't know of any instance where they have lost all 3. Purely based on probability the chance would be 1/8 (0r 12.5%) if they lost all three.

this is a fantastic initiative and one i think will b very successful. i think that if a very quick side is picked we will have a very good chance of knocking them off, as from watching this game in the past it is fast paced, and the speedsters generally dominate.

If local footy coaches & recruiting managers are smart enough then they will be there at the match to try & recruit the local Irish boys to switch codes for next season. You will be surprised at their skill levels & wonder why we haven't been doing this for years.

This forum is a great find.. Great to see all tha baggings of ECE form a couple of years ago has come back to bite a few people in the ass!!! Ive noticed that the Penno contingent on RWO have disappeared since the end of 2008, by looking at this forum..

Also missing is Mug Punter who was very vocal about Balmain and I think he said Balmain will struggle to have a club in 2011, let alone perform well!

                          Fair call

Let's just see how sustainable their model is. I can't help but wondering how much their runner-up medals cost.....
