Would be some unhappy campers if not.
I remember a club president telling me about 10 years ago that only 2 or 3 of the now premier league clubs pay their fees. I am shocked to hear that this has changed substantially.

CB the McClelland Trophy is awarded to the AFL club champions but at the end of the day its a nothing award. Essendon have won it 9 times and Carlton 5 yet the only thing anyone really knows it that both clubs are tied together on 16 premierships apiece.

Just because its in the by-laws doesnt mean they enforce it great man . A few years ago a certain club won the premier div and hadnt paid up, and were still behind a few seasons after, from what ive heard they have caught up now. Id say most premier div clubs are paid up most seasons or it might flow on into early the next season at worst. I know thats the case with us anyway

For what it's worth, East Coast defeated UTS by 18 or so goals earlier this year in a pre-season match.

In the "Div One" game beforehand, UTS beat ECE by 12 points from memory.

In fear of mentioning the wrong clubs and being exposed to the wrath of this forum I wont try to remember. But the majority of clubs didn't pay rather than the other way around. Someone can offer the facts. Meanwhile I will guess. The league sends out a bill to each club of 10-20k each year but only chases the money from those can afford it. My response was simple. Why don't the minority just not pay like the rest?

I am sure there is a club president or board member out there who can confirm or deny this.

You beat Campbelltown by 22 goals in round 3 at monarch.

They beat you in round 12 at BP.

                So whats your point?

If they want this trophy their 18's will need to win cause they won't be beating Nth Shore this weekend...

Um......stay optimistic mate, it's good for club morale.

Not sure what everybody is on about here?.....but if you go to the Sydney AFL website, select detailed results for the Prem Div Seniors match between Nth Shore & Balmain and click on the Nth Shore selected side you'll quickly see there doesn't appear to be much stacking going on. Couple out, couple in, and no suggestion I know of that the blokes out are in the 2's. If you can't do that, give it till after lunch and the selected sites will be on the home page

North Shore don't need to stack their ressies. As I understand it, there's only one team that's being relegated from First Division, and North Shore can't get the spoon.
If St George already had a side in Second Division and couldn't be relegated then North Shore would need to avoid coming second last, but that's not the case. Obviously North Shore's First Division would like to win, but as I understand it they won't get relegated if they don't.

Correct Norris, no need to stack.

Has the league made anything official regarding relegation - even 1 team??

Well we always pay, and on the odd occasion where it has gone into the next year we have always caught up before the next season starts. As you said maybe we should just not pay next year and put an extra 20K into players and give it a real crack
