That maybe true but they can also play a bit & i reckon will go well.

Also it now gives a pathway for the kids from the junior club(Maroubra) to have somewhere to go instead of UNSW/ES.
And have it on good authority that former Swan Grant Bartholemous will be the inaugural player/coach. Very handy. One of our former players is having a run down there, says its a good mix of youth and experience.

your 100% correct Pekay, myself and a half dozen (hopefully) ex saints players who are to old for higher grades will have a run at some stage, bodys depending of course.

Only issue being colours, with Mac Uni going for a change to black white and red, what will the Saints do for colours?

see you down there then shearer.
what will the afl do if they get enough for 2 teams?
leave a heap of blokes sitting out or let them have a third div team.

Surely they should let then run 2 teams in Div4 if they get the numbers that are rumoured. Surely you just don't let 20+ guys miss out on getting a game.

You would think they would get promoted from the off if Bartholemous was coaching with 50+ players. What an absolute coup!

Genuinely exciting times! Not a flash in the pan either as the junior infrastructure is well in place. Maroubra had 11 junor teams in 2009 and two teams in each grade in U9 - U11. Once the "old geezers" retire there will be a very very rich pool of talent, commited to their local community club, to come through. Surely part of the attraction for someone like Bartholemous is the rare opportunity to build a new club.

The South Sydney area has been a huge black hole since the demise of South Sydney Seniors in the 70s but that area is ripe for development. Very tight community who IMO will match or surpass the rise of UTS.

              Bring it on.....

Good on you shearer, hope you have an absolute ball and also really contribute to the growth of our game in the process.

I'll be following your progress keenly....
