Mug Punter you are somewhat naive on this subject and im not deliberately being a smart arse saying that.
The AFL does not care about senior football in NSW - they are reducing current budgets and would prefer us to be 100% self sufficient like other state despite knowing the difficulties we face.
They are only interested in the income they can generate from TV rights and therefore are happy for the junior participation rates they report to be potentially inflated.
I bet my step daughter is counted twice as a participant in the next lot of figures they release. She currently is registered at her school where some of the East Coast boys are running Auskick on Wednesday afternoons after school and is again registered at the new Harris Creek centre near Holsworthty on Sunday morning which I take her too and assist a bit.
Whilst we all want increased funding and real support the fact is its not going to happen - the future development of senior football rests solely with the clubs and the under resourced NSWAFL.
