We could never compete with that sort of coin - the alleged massive scholarship and free UAI points must not have been enough!

          recruits / departures

Shinerunner, what has been the outcome from the premiership? Word on the street says East Coast have been hammered by departures interstate and retirements.

also heard Brydon Coles is off to the SANFL.

And finally heard Terry Mudge has given away the Uni job due to work commitments. any one care to confirm or deny

I heard from one of their players yesterday that URE and SKUSE are going to WA and SANKEY has retired but everyone else is staying put
The edge is not the limit, It's just the starting point...

I have it on good authority that Seebeck, Pearson & Smyth have also retired. As well as a few more going interstate.

Mr F, authority wrong (not completely but technically yes)

Nothing announced on Big Seebeck, Smyth yes, Pearson this stage no decision made, however likely he will continue after one of his best seasons for the club.

I heard Ure and Skuse will head west, Sankey and Smyth will retire (you would hope Garns pulls the pin now he has a flag) and Seebeck and Pearson yet to make up their mind. Their is a lot of talk comming out of Balmain that a heap of players are on the move. Word is that a few are heading south and that a few more are already in discussions with local Sydney sides. It will be interesting to see their numbers at pre-season training. Not having a coach yet would certainly not be helping their cause. Also heard that Sydney Uni are very active in their recruiting this year. The big slush fund (scholorships) is almost overflowing and they want to get things moving pretty quickly. All clubs should be advised to keep an eye their youngsters!

                    Seebeck

Take it as gospel that Seebeck has retired. Put this reply in your diaries for the date that it was announced first.

If Gus does retire the happiest bloke will be Duggy . He can now be the target,I was hoping Gus would play on just to see how he would react when Duggy told him to f-off out of the 50m arc.
This will save a lot of tears.

Although Duggy may not be at ece after all, word is A few days after starting work with garns he was still shopping himself around to other clubs, I can't imagine he would stay long in the job if he plays At another club?
