They are Pekay for Mac Uni, they're talking about one step up with North Shore dropping for Power to go up.
Norths 2s (genuine 2s, not stacked 2s) should play Power in a trial game next year. Winner is in Div 1, Loser in Div 2.

I'm sure Norths are upset at going down a Div, just as much as Power are upset not to go up a Div.

why should they have to do that Dunger?

the rules at the start of the year said one up and one down, the league cant just start dropping extra teams.

P.s. my mail is that norths will stay up and sutho will stay were they are.

My understanding is that it's one up, one down. Which would mean Macquarie go up, St George go down. They'd look at the second bottom team if the bottom team couldn't be relegated; but that doesn't apply here.
I doubt they'd change the rules until nominations have closed.

One up on down is the way forward IMO. Yeah Sutho will be disappointed but then again they knew the score at the start and you'd have to think they'd be certs this year to go up.

Surely the League has to abide by the rules it set up at he start of the year...

Will be interesting to see how Mac Uni go this year....

They were undefeated in Div 2 for the home and away season. The whole point of promotion and relegation is to make each grade more competitive. I don't see how leaving Power in Div 2 will make it even and competitive.

The league bumped 2 teams from what was Premier reservers and SFA 1s this year, why can't they do it again?

They can't just make it up as they go along surely?

If 1 up 1 down was agreed at the start then it needs to stay. Likewise if 2 up 2 down was agreed then that would need to be adhered to as well. All we ask for is consistency.

The bumping up of UTS and Manly is slightly different as I think they were deemed the two SFA teams capable of competing at SFL Reserve grade level.

I see where you are coming from Dunger and moving Nor West up is similar (in the up move that is, and I agree with Jets going up), BUT the issue is with the down move of Bombers who were well ahead of the last placed team and is outside of "automatic" restructure arrangements, so adds subjectivity to it.

I think they will either leave Sharks down, and hey they should have coped with finals better and the discussion would not be happening, OR they will move them up and leave Bombers up also. I just can't see how Bombers can be dropped.

Would Bombers consider legal action? Just throwing it out there....

I think one for one is fair, there was different circumstances with Manly & UTS going up. Will be interesting to see. I don't think a pre-season game would be any gauge to go by, no-one is at strength at that time of year. The disappointing thing from St George & Norths point of view is the performance of their 18s in 2009, and the players that will filter into their senior grades. However, if you finish last, you go down, its that simple.

Are the Jets hoping to go up a Division despite their 2-and-out record like the Power? There are exceptions and I think you will find the Power will go up.

I believe the Jets should too.

Yes we are applying to go back up to Division 2. Finals didn't come into our thought process regarding applying for promotion, we were beaten by better teams in finals, that's footy.

TLM, we have applied for our seniors to go up to Division 2 - we now wait and see which way the league goes.

                          I believe it will be:
Div 1-2 - St George swap Mac Uni
Div 2-3 - Campbelltown swap UNSWES, East Coast swap Nor-West
Div 3-4 - Bye swap Sydney Uni
Div 4-new/out - Bye swap Maroubra

That creates 10 in every grade.
I've heard rumours about Holroyd-Parramatta dropping a team and Southern Power getting a third one. If that's the case, I think the following will also happen:

                          Div 3-4 - Holroyd-Parramatta swap UNSWES
                          Div 4-new/out - Holroyd-Parramatta swap Southern Power

                          This would leave:

Premier: Balmain, Campbelltown, East Coast, North Shore, Pennant Hills, St George, Sydney University, UNSWES, Western Suburbs, Wollongong.
Division 1: East Coast, Macquarie University, Manly-Warringah, North Shore, Pennant Hills, Sydney University, UNSWES, UTS, Western Suburbs, Wollongong.
Division 2: Balmain, Camden, Holroyd-Parramatta, Manly-Warringah, Nor-West, Southern Power, St George, Sydney University, UNSWES, UTS.
Division 3: Campbelltown, East Coast, Macquarie University, Moorebank, Pennant Hills, Penrith, Southern Power, Sydney University, UNSWES, UTS.
Division 4: Auburn, Camden, Holroyd-Parramatta, Macquarie University, Manly-Warringah, Maroubra, Moorebank, Nor-West, Penrith, Southern Power, Sydney University, UNSWES, UTS.

That makes 13 in Div 4 if all rumours are true, 14 if Pekay is wrong and someone like St Ives made a comeback as well - the league would probably need a Div 5 to make it work.

Well done - that's progression. The Power will go up based on the same philosophy - well that's what i said earlier today based on my sources.

The Jets are real movers and shakers in Sydney AFL. Congrats PK and BMR. You guys are living proof of REAL and PASSIONATE footy.
