You can't have the same club in a division. First rule they came up with I believe.
I think 2 teams should go up and down, if it were one only, and you have a situation like this year in Divs 2 & 3, where Sharks and Jets finished top of the ladder at end of H & A, but went out in straight sets? Who goes up, Minor or Major Premiers? Or just both?

Prior to the season the league needs to make a decision to promote/relegate either 1 or 2 teams. Why should Manly, UTS or any other club get special treatment just because they have more numbers?
Obviously it is not the case here but if in future one of their teams finishes last then they should be relegated. If they happen to have a team already in the lower league then they can simply strengthen that team and the remaining players be filtered through the grades according to the ability.
Isn't the whole idea to make the comp more even?

1 up 1 down in premier league providing facilities etc all in order.
      2 up 2 down all other comps..{Minor premier and highest finishing other team in finals get promoted}
the quickest and best way to even the comps up.
When in doubt refer to the common sense rule..
let nature take its course .

          I wouldn't wish that upon Camden's twos....
Speaking of which, do they still exist? They haven't updated their site since July, no word of B & F winners on league site...any word?

            Norths will stay up

I can confirm that Norths will stay up and the Sharks will have a second chance to win Division 2.

They will be hard to beat, although everyone thought that of them this year too before finals. Should be an interesting year.

Wasnt the new format suppose to even out the comps, Div 2 minor premiers no loss for the home and away season not going up shows how serious the league is.

Agreed. I think the Minor and Major Premier should go up in all grades. If the Minor IS the Major Premier then there is a case for one up one down.

Just a bad run in finals, that's all. It happens. East Coast did it a few years back (although they made the big dance) From what I can gather, the main reason we're going up, as opposed to Sharks, is that another club in Div 2 has applied to go down, so its a stright swap. I can't see any of the precious Premier Reserves teams applying to drop from Div 1 for the Sharks.

That's the three year vision. It gives us lower division clubs a chance to try our luck in the higher grades, not Premier Div, but Div 2 and eventually 1. Should've happened years ago.

No room for ECE ressies who've played the last 4 grand finals in essentially that division...? Yet the ressies for the Uni's and Wollongong from Prem Div stay you think?

I know I should be used to it by now but I cannot believe the constant cr@p that is written on here by the holier than now lower division brigade. If half you clowns had ever ventured out of the SydneyAFL sanctuary you would understand what a laughing stock we are. If you have ever tried to recruit a quality player from interstate and had to explain to them that some of the Premier League club reserves play in a different competition you would understand. You are now talking about bringing in Maroubra and Auburn with the possibility of them not having a reserve grade side or an under 18 side. We play in a competition that has football CLUBS participating, not teams. The Premier Leaugue should be made up of Seniors, Reserves and Under 18s that all play at the same ground on the same day. With every change the SydneyAFL makes to even up the retard competitions below Premier League they are actually weakening the competition as a whole. Please boys do not get your nose out of joint. I am only saying what every other person in Premier Leaugue is thinking or saying. It is not meant to be personal.

Duck ive spent plenty of time outside of Syd Footy and seen enough to realise our Prem Div is a mile off the pace and the wages paid to hacks by some clubs is insane - I know one kid in the VFL who won his clubs b&f this year as well as being named in the 2009 VFL team of the year and all he gets is $400 for a senior game and 150 is dropped to ressies.

Maybe prem div clubs should realise that meaniful partnerships with the lower division clubs in their areas would see the overall standard of the competition lift rather than what we currently see.
