Maybe it would be easier to remember us as Southern Districts or Liverpool or Bankstown - sure our name has changed but then again so have most clubs in Sydney. Lets see, Blues to Roos to Blues, Sharks to Power, Whales to Dogs, Saints to Jets, Falcons to Eagles, Blues to Power to Cats, Kookas to Warriors.... just of the top of my head. I think you will also find it has happend at the highest level on more than a few occasions as well, it all comes down down to survival and negation of negative conontations, hell clubs sell their grounds names as well to sponsors regardless of what people think, I can tell you the Visy Park, formerly MC Labour Park formerly Optus Oval will always me Princes Park to me.

At the end of the day the majority of life members at Rosedale are more concerned that the club survives not that name is different. Given that life member and Sydney AFL Hall of Fame member Ellis Noack didnt seem to be to put out or confused like you by the name change Im sure youll eventually adjust.

Heard Pekay was changing their name to the "RAAF" due to the Air Base being out there.

And then he plans to merge with Penrith and be known as the "Riff Raaf"

Others. But ahs also hit up wests as well

Has hit a few high profile players from each club offering upwards of $400 per game.

Did he do this at Easts as well? Is that why they had a good list?

Does he bank roll this himself or has st george been saving?

One station too far Bert. Penriff has the monopoly on ugg boots. This is farming land, all gumboots out here.

Come on. It's Christmas time, lets not get into petty jealousies. Most area's have things in common like pubs, nice houses and footy clubs. Some are unique. Take Hawkesbury for instance, they have gumboots, whilst others, like Moorebank and Penrith, have 2010 premiership flags. Surely that evens things out

Before this, like most other topics, ends up in a school kid argument about Norwest, v moorebank, v camden, v Auburn v whoever else.... let's get back on topic....

I have been following the Champions League concept on other web forums and notice that it has been officially announced that East Coast have been invited.

Do you think that there will be any interest from players who might be looking to get exposure on a higher level moving to the Eagles. The champions League will be a great test for the Sydney club with some pretty good prize money on offer and of course there is the ongoing suggestion of a Sydney club joining the Northern League you might think the Eagles will be opening that fat cheque book again in 2011 to ensure they get a look in.

I also hear that St George have been on the phone big time with some big scalps on the radar.
