Will be interesting to see how St George go against ECE this week!! Also a little bit surprised to see the NAB Rising Star went to David Lycakis of St George!!
Must have had a pretty good game to get the nod over ECE's Jack Dwyer who in his first senior game against last years GF side racked up 30 touches!!! Pretty hard to play a better first up better game!!

Rising Star is not always a refection of the nominees game on that particular weekend. Clubs have to submit a picture and article by lunchtime Monday which sometimes catches a club out. I am sure he will be nominated next week or very soon, especially if he keeps that kind of form up.

Interesting!!! Had no idea about that... Little Jack Dwyer was all over the local papers this weekend so no doubt his nomination will be soon..

For anyone who wants to see Jack Dwyer's game, tune in on Friday night. He played a cracker and would have been extremely close to best on ground. If we get a better game than that this season I might just blow a gasket!

Balmain would be happy to be 2 from 2 - it's been many years since they've started a season with wins in the first two rounds.
But they won ugly. Can't believe how many chances they squandered. And it was a tough night for UTS, who were unable to make Balmain pay for their missed chances. I can't say I was particularly impressed with tonight's game, but I think both sides are capable of showing a lot more than they did tonight.

I think UTS will be lucky to win a game or two - it's a massive step up and I don't think they were as dominant last year as they were the year before... but then again you could write on the head of a matchstick what I know about their recruiting and coaching so I could very well be wrong!

Student I agree with your assessment of UTS in relation to previous years. I thought their sides of 2007 / 2008 were significantly stronger than 2009 and particularly 2010 which was much weaker in comparison. It will be interesting to see if they can recruit or were the teams of 07 / 08 just good luck?

After Round 2, Balmain are top of the ladder. It's been many a long year since they've been up there.

With no Sunday Premier Division games and a quiet afternoon in at home, I've been able to get this done early:
This week's RWO Sydney AFL Wrap is now online, featuring coverage of the Balmain v UTS match.
