62 teams nominated for seniors - an increase of three on this year. No word as to who they are, but I'm guessing Penrith 3rds and Gosford would be two of them.

Will be either 11 teams in P-1 and 10 in 2-5 or 11 in P-4 and 7 in Div 5.

22 teams nominated for 18s. Will be either two divs of 11 or two divs of 8 and one of 6.
"It's up to the rest of the players in the room to make a new batch of premiership players next year," Adam Goodes, triple Bob Skilton Medallist, October 7, 2011.

Interesting. First I have heard of a new club starting. I would imagine it would be scrutinised heavily and they would be have to be sustainable with a growth plan/Under 18's vision etc for the future. Not just a bunch of mates wanting to have a run. Any rumours where they would be playing out of? Whalan Reserve maybe?

"Included amongst the nominations are two new clubs who have nominated a single team. These clubs are Gosford Wildcats who have transferred across from the Black Diamond AFL, whilst the Blacktown Magic will field a team for the first team. The Magic have been established by the AFL as a means of engaging the Blacktown Region and provide a pathway from community-run programs to senior football.

There is similar growth in the Under 18 age group, with a record twenty-two nominations being received for the two divisions. Nor West and Saints afc will be fielding Under 18?s teams for the first time."

Surely the Magic will rock the pinstripes...?

I played all my junior footy at Seven Hills/Blacktown, so it's good to see the revival of a Blacktown team, but the name is less than imaginative. Better than Starz as Colesy mentioned though.

And we're not entering an 18s team for the first time as it states, we had one from 1997-2004! Research, head office!

You were 2 seperate clubs at the time from memory wernt you? Hawkesbury at Bensons and Jets at Wrights one senior the other under 18's?

Anyway I wonder where DC and his new charges will be based? If imaging a few people may have something to say if its out of the AFLs showpiece at Rooty Hill.

Western Jets were born out of Blacktown & Hawkesbury 16s, playing under Hawkesbury ARFC Inc, so not seperate clubs, no. We played games at Quakers and Bensons, and our 18s backed up for Seniors countless times. Our 18s went from Western Jets, to Nor-West Jets, then into Greater Western Power & then Penriff/Nor-West RamJets.

Interesting how new clubs get selected into Divisions.

Notice that Blacktown (new club-0.00 years old) is in div 3
Gosford - 40 years old in Div 4

                            Afternoon All,

Long time reader, first time poster.

Saints AFC is looking at 3 teams this year, with the possibility of a women's team. Looking forward to season 2012! having a pathway to the under 18's for our junior club is great for this area instead of going to UNSW/ES

                            Go the saints!

Can easily see the Saints having a UTS like rise and playing in Div 1 with 3-4 senior sides within 5 years. They are able to tap a huge catchment area and are piggy backing one of the most progressive junior clubs in Sydney.

I don't particularly like the manufacturing of this new Blacktown side, think the best and most obvious way to bring on new clubs is from a strong junior one. Don't think it would take much for an Upper North Shore senior side (St Ives or Hornsby) to get up and running either
