Hey MP,
If you call the Mac Uni "road hump" a crisis, what do you call the predicament Auburn Tigers are in??
A Port Adelaide?
"It's up to the rest of the players in the room to make a new batch of premiership players next year," Adam Goodes, triple Bob Skilton Medallist, October 7, 2011.

All clubs can go through times where they're scrambling to find numbers for their teams; but to go from fielding two teams last year to being unable to put one on the field three times this year is rather alarming.
It's sad to see. For the last couple of years they'd been portrayed as a multicultural success story and had brought some positive publicity to Sydney footy. But there must have been some serious @@@@ going on behind the scenes for more than half the players to walk.

I think all of us on here know which family was instrumental in setting up Auburn. They were happy to laud it up in the media a mere 16 months ago, they should equally accept responsibility for it being a mammoth and embarassing failure.
Surprise surprise that on field discipline was an issue, the only thing that truly amazes me is that the race card hasn't been played
When we played them a few weeks ago, I was speaking to Chicka about the prospect of dropping down and re-grouping in Div 3, which he, and some were looking forward to. mind you, this was before our female trainer was abused for attending to a downed player, and three of their players left at 3QT due to the Tigers putting the stink on at every opportunity. It doesn't augur well for beyond 2012.
Haven't come across the men's sides this year, having no team in D2, but been to both the girls games when they played Penrith. Good spirited stuff, friendly before and after game and a good bunch IMO.
Think they are missing the guidance of a closely associated member who also works for the AFL.

Says it all really. Expect there will be a very nasty incident involving that club by the end of the season.....
They were fine as a one club team in Div 4, which I think was the lowest div in Sydney at the time, as long as they could unleash violence against weaker opposition. Bring them up a few divs where the football skills are increased and they start losing the majority of games, then come the forfeights, suspension, with lashings of more violence, etc.
It would appear to me that they've got a bad case of Sore Loserness.

A bunch of mindless thugs that have no place in Sydney Football....
I'd hate to see a club go, but at present there don't seem to be many positives, if any, about Auburn.
I'll word this carefully, but one of their biggest problems is that they are not a community inclusive club from what I can tell.
And seemingly having so many anger/behavioural issues it doesn't make it the most attractive club to want to play for in any case.
If they continue on as a club, major changes are going to have to be made.
It's a shame, because Auburn was around in the late 80s/early 90s (Redlegs I think) and it was good to see one of Sydney's former clubs reappear (albeit in name only, as with Blacktown).
Just a thought how much money from the AFL was tossed into this 3 year expirement. I feel this is like a sad love story for 2 years the love was strong but another love entered in Blacktown and all of a sudden the the darlings of the AFL were spurned for a prettier version. I noticed in the first 2 years that a few from Auburn were reported and they seemed to get away with a lot on the park but this year they seem to have a group booking at the tribunial. And to finish though they do at times play footy a bit differently to some they still have some bloody handy blokes running around.
