Beats me why they didn't let Camden go it alone, they had the numbers and the passion whilst the basket cases, as usual, had bugger all.

Back in late 2010, a senior Western Sydney AFL official approached Penrith about "talking" to Campbelltown about supplying them with with better players and 18's in a "mutual" type agreement to give our better players a chance to play at a higher level and it would be very beneficial to us.
We said that we thought that if Town were struggling, they should approach us.

The reply was a shake of the head and a weird look.
Think you will find that the 25 from Camden's social media report would refer to club officials, coaches and senior players.

Apparently not alot of kid or parental support there.

Hence I commenced my post with "happy to be corrected" as I wasn't there. Appears that the 25 was overs, cheers.

We know how "mutual" agreements between PD and lower division clubs work.

As it turned out, Penrith's rise up the divisions has helped their players play at a higher level in any case.

I wonder about the AFL sometimes.

I believe with 53 guys over the 2 training runs and with 40 odd to each session it sounds like things are positive out at Marsfeild.

From all reports an attitude adjustment from last years playing group is well overdue, fingers crossed the revitalization continues.
Thanks Pickup, good to hear some actual football news for a change.

Good luck to Mac Uni, hopefully their last 12 months or so was an aberration as we know what a strong club they've been in the past.

FWIW, Penrith have had a solid start to the year with good numbers at training. A couple of guys returning from o/s and one or two new recruits with some ability who have lobbed should help, although you can never be sure of the full picture until you get into Feb/March.

I assume the Kerry Saxby is a walking reference LOL

More clubs than Tiger Woods and not a flag between them with him at the helm, find it staggering a club would have that clown back, must be a bit tight down there at Pickin Oval.

Any chance of him having a run this year?, I believe he is doing a solid pre-season (at the TAB......)? Oh dear, you simply couldn't read about it, there is ALWAYS a club whose committee believes what it wants to hear, I would have thought that Sheeds would have a gig for him since they are such great mates.....

Have to agree with you there PK, but in their defence we know how the PD is the be all and end all ok Sydney footy, its not about the health of the game but the strength of the club. the sooner there is only 2 clubs left in NSW the happier they will be. they would rather 25 kids not get a run than to share them with a lower grade club. put in 2 18's team and pillage the 16's to keep them going.

found this to be an interesting read

Bankstown Sports AFL Home Bankstown Sports AFL. Play AFL in Bankstown

                      no AGM yet?

accordingly, no committee, no coaches, no players registered.

aren't they running out of time?

one would have to assume that was the plan!

this club hosted the Sydney South GF day 3 years ago, had over 150 registered players (not school Auskickers!) and had teams in all 5 GF's ... then they decided to resist the AFL's decision to shift them West, as the feedback was that the club would be decimated and not survive ... hmmm seems that transparency is a foreign concept
