I got on very well with that GM and what saddens me more is some of the things Ive heard said about him. And yes your right he was attempting to build the club the right way

Now the club looks to be imploding due to the same bunch of "movers and shakers", who couldn't run a chook raffle. Very sad.
I wasn't going to bagg out Balmain but, seeing as there's a bandwagon going....oh, well, I'll jump on !!!!!!!!!!!
I was reading the Central Coast AFL forum the other day and someone was doing an assessment of the clubs in that area; it came to Lake Macquarie (which has one of those ""strategic relationships" with Balmain), and the comment was that Lake Macquarie had made a lot of noise about doing something in 2012 but was lucky to win a game.
I allowed myself a quiet smile.

Looks Like Southern Power will be in Div 1 18's next year according to their Web Site.

That would make sense for Southern Power's U18s to go up, after winning Div 2 this year. Unless Penrith have an exceptional crop of under 16s coming through, they may go down.
Some new teams have nominated for next year; but it's likely to stay as two divisions.

Camden should be given the opportunity to develop a stand alone under 18's - Its not like Campbelltown havnt had plenty of chances to develop an under 18's in the past. Be interesting to see if the league allow it though.

I couldn't agree more, if they have a good plan let them go for it. Let whoever can raise the numbers and put a good team of people together to run it have a go. I cannot abide policies like the pretend pathway and other rubbish that is in place just to protect a status quo for clubs. The kids deserve a chance at the best environment they can find that suits them, if thats a new side terrific, let them and their parents decide whats best for them like they do in all other walks of life.

Penrith have asked to go to Div 2. Power deserve their chance. Manly will probably be knocking at the door in 2014 to align with their ones.

There is a blueprint for 2014 with (fewer) regional 18's Premier sides and two lower division conferences based on geography. Nothing in concrete though.

If Camden can get enough playing numbers, a coach, trainer etc; then it would be absolutely ridiculous not to allow them to field an under 18s team.

Camden has an excellent coach for the under 18s appointed - problem is from what Ive heard the AFL still wants to prop up town.

NEAFL draw for next season is out - and I see Sydney Uni are playing most of their home games at Drummoyne.
That oval's looking good these days, with the new clubhouse and the lights; and the surface there's got to be better than No 1 last time I was there.

Guess that the Marrickville Dockers will stay at Henson if that is the case.
Wish the students could pick a ground with parking though.

You know it would be improper to reveal my sources, Tara. Congrats on re-appointment anyhow, good luck for the season, sure it will be a good one for you. Thought you might apply for our women's coaching gig. Everyone else did !

Not sure if it's a rumour or not...Maybe I dreamt it, but has anyone heard anything about two clubs merging in 2013?
