The fixtures in the previous post are as per the weekly memo. Unfortunately as I look out the window at work, it's absolutely pouring down; and the weather forecast suggests there's more on the way.

I've got a sinking feeling that we're going to have ground closures and last-minute fixture changes this weekend. If you become aware of any ground closures or fixture changes, please post them here - so that we can do our bit to make sure everyone gets to the right ground.

I think you're right Norris. Back home in beautiful Melbourne, we'd play on skating rinks, swimming pools. mud baths and that was just 'what ya do'. But up here, a little whisp of cloud on the south west horizon is enough to make council greenkeepers nervous !
Lucky the AFL is building up a supply of grounds where WE make the rules about suitability for play, and it will only get better as AFL takes hold here.
We all bagg out the AFL from time to time, but they're getting there......

If clubs are happy to repair any damage to the ground and replace turf as necessary so the grounds don't end up dust bowls when it dries out, you might find councils might be more accommodating.

            Or here's a better option
Transfer the game a further 45mins up the coast and kick the start time back to 4:30pm and that will fix everything.Finish the game at 7pm and be 3.5hrs away from home well done SydneyAFL bloody disgraceful form by the team on the nth coast.

I was surprised when Bateau Bay was listed as it is a little far north but it has been on the list of sydneyafl venues all year. I think you'll find the bdafl are playing there on Saturday and probably the ccafl juniors on Sunday which only leaves 4:30pm available.

Incidentally, without putting on the mock on the ground, has Bateau Bay ever been closed due to wet weather? Can another ground in the sydney comp match that claim? I don't know the details, but I can only think the ground is built on about 6 ft of sand as it is always bone dry.

Yeah mate had 16 but then our coach umpired so our umpire played we ended up with 17players.It was a massive effort by the boys and the club and they almost got the points,so by the by laws if we get rained out we can use a ground in batemans bay just to sneak a win.Very poor form by the Nth Coast side but the return match at home should be very interesting.

I assume it was the late change that reduced your numbers then? A significant time shift and obviously a geographical one as well wouldn't help.

Our boys are looking forward to the test against you lot this week actually, see where we are at.

Wait a minute.....your coach umpired? I asked MG if that was allowed earlier this year and was knocked on the head.

3.5 hours to get back to Sydney? Maybe you should trade in your Malvern Star for a Shimano.
