If there's nothing holding clubs back, I cant wait for every ground to be re-badged real soon.
Thank you for your concern Coastal Boy. The oval didn't need a name a change because it has never had one.

The complex is still called Bruce Purser Reserve and will be for time immemorial. The playing arena however is now known as Kanebridge Oval and will be recognised by the AFL and Cricket NSW as such in their fixture listings and media releases.

Council will also refer to the oval as Kanebridge Oval seeing as how they approved the commercial arrangement at our request.

You'll also see that Google has recognised it already as well ....

Well hats off to Ece for their initiative. The local council must be very approachable and happy to consider new ideas. It doesn't sound like the cricket receive any financial benefit so its good they haven't attempted to block the new naming or look at renaming it themselves over the summer when its theirs. I can only imagine a multinational company like McDonald's or Coca-Cola would be happy to pay to have a ground have their name. So why don't they do it? Are their many examples of local footy playing at grounds in Sydney or elsewhere with commercial arrangement names?

CB Unley Oval in SA (Sturts Home) was renamed Envestra Park in 2013. Envestra changed its name to Australian Gas Networks last year and decided they wanted the oval named after a significant figure going forward. In 2015 it will be known as Peter Motley Oval. Im sure their are others around but this is the first Ive heard of a sponsor not using their own name.

Fixtures for all divisions are now released.
It's always a tough juggling act, and every club will have some weekends where they're split over multiple grounds - much as they try to minimise it, it's unavoidable.

One of the main sponsors of Balmain has been Wentworth Park Greyhounds, but I looked on the club website tonight and it seems that they are playing down that association....as ya would.

But instead, good to see our very own NORRIS LURKER prominent in their website photo gallery. Do you think he is paying attention to the game ??

Quite a few transfers between clubs.

Luffy back to Balmain, might secure that flag he's been after.

Lachlan Pryor from Shore to the Goannas.

Ash Azhar back to Randwick from Balmain.

One that surprised me was Zac Jardine from UTS to Randwick.

Someone ought to set up a medical science project called "The Secret to Eternal Life" using body parts of some of our SFL legends.
Donations to scientific research could include:-
                        - Troy Luff's hammies
                        - Saleem Kassem's varicose veins
                        - Pekay's knee.

As well, Mark Rendell's aerobic capacity, Frank Kalaysich's whistle hand, Yoley's freakish ability to measure 50 metres backwards, and Anton's eyes that could see 360 degrees through a pack of players from any distance at any point on the arena. (Especially when it wasn't his call anyway.)

I'll happily donate my kidneys - there's a reason why I got my nickname.

I hope Luffy gets that flag. Balmain have some good ins according to the clearances.

No issues with my knees mate, $14k in surgery and it's better than new.

Hips, back, spine, now they are another story altogether.

i see that the new CEO for NSW/ACT has been appointed. I make no claims to understand the politics of GHQ/NSWACT, but this fella sounds like quite a high flyer, judging by his CV...more of a high flyer than his predecessors.
He has been teleported from Marijuana House in Melbourne (the harder you suck, the higher you get) with a big and wide-ranging brief. Which seems to include growing our comp.
Gotta be happy with that !

I'd be interested in comments as to whether this means that the AFL is taking our comp more seriously now, or whether he has been banished to Siberia for a while after falling out of favour.
