We all know Mudgee playing days are long gone Pekay so it would have to involve "over the fence".

"Hey gadget, put me in div 1 this week so I can king hit someone even though i havent played div 1 in years"

"Ill see you in the parking lot jarjoura"

Which one is prefered so i could hit him? I think either would make me more of a tosser than him. That said, putting @@@@ on someone online and sledging on field doesnt put me far behind. But for him i feel its warranted.

While my div 1 playing games are gone, i did get 4 goals in a game in div 4 last year. Thats half my career goals.

Was Mudge a dirty player? I wouldn't have a clue to be honest, did he play in Sydney? Never seen his name in a local footy record for memory.

Isn't the VG being redeveloped? Or did the Dogs get turfed altogether?

I thought kicked off last year for a building on campus and needed the area as storage. I thought they were back this year?

I was told by Steve Ray that it was to close and they were using portable buildings on the ground with the apartments going up next to it. There were some planning issues that put the schedule back. After it's completed, it will revert to "green space" with no fence or organised sport on it. Big shame actually, pain in the arse to park, but great facility, good sheds etc and covered stand right on the ground.

Any results from last weekend trials?

I see the Riff travelled to Maitland, would've been a delightful bus trip home.

Goannas had a match cancelled against Geelong West.......possibly missed a cricket score there!

Ours v Wollindilly was called off. Had a full team of prems players and a second of div 1 v a div 3 side. Could have been interesting.

Got Camden in 3 grades this week, prems v div 1 should be interesting. Anticipate it to be like last year where it was basically a game of keepings off and they would get so frustrated they would try to get physical. I think mudgee even made them do 30 minutes of running pre game.

I seem to remember that he was teleported into Sydney footy like Mr Bean, way, way beyond his peak playing days - I think he looks the same now as he did when he first arrived.
I think he coached at two other clubs - Baulko and perhaps Wests (not sure about that), then disappeared for a bit before re-teleporting to the Dragons.

And I'm happy to be corrected by anyone who actually knows what they're talking about.

He doesn't seem to be a "dirty-player-kinda-guy" to me, though some of us will remember a colourful behind-the-play incident involving a close relative of his in a recent final, delightfully captured on the match day video.

He had a stint at UNSW-ES coach. I don't remember him playing in Sydney, if he did it was before my time covering games on here.

Always interesting to see who clubs play during their pre-season trial games. Some clubs choose an easy game or two just to make sure they get everything right without too much pressure. And some choose to play quality opposition to test themselves at a higher level. No right or wrong I suppose. Just interesting to see St.George take on Camden again if they basically wasted their time playing against them last year.

Mudgeys career in Sydney has been as a coach only. Coached through the junior system at Baulkho and Sydney Reps, then senior assistant coach at ECE under Rohan Graham, moved to UNSWES and coached them to a Prelim & Grand Final and then onto St.George. He has a very good record of getting teams into finals, prelims and grand finals with only a premiership evading him to this stage. They will head into season 2017 as raging favorites IMO.

From memory he played his footy mainly in Melbourne in a strong metro competition and I have no doubt he would have liked to play tough.
