Coming from the club that poaching Kids from Nsw wide haha

    Missed the point FB.

The comment was made in the context of the sustainability of Camden vs Wollongong. Camden seem to be pretty well run, they have some cash and they're likely to get some help - so should make it and we need them to.

The info about the offer is pretty reliable, but not complaining about it. If we had that kind of cash we'd probably do it too

What about some updates from those close to their clubs. Are there any new recruits? Who will be the big improvers?
Any updates re: Prems, Prems ressies, the Divisions and the new Plutonium league?

Plutonium league. Perfect name. No Sunday games to accommodate Hillsong FC.

A lot of talk was had with a few decisions to still come out of it. New season is looking interesting, Camden some good recruits , Penno a few Key ins, Easts breaking cheque book some ex afl players coming, North shore will be the same strong list, East Coast new coach some good ins, St George is the one... heard a few leaving and a few not happy. Syd Uni hear they have own issues at present but will be strong no doubt with the extended list again

have to agree on that one, his plan (pardon the pun) didn't eventuate, last thing they would want is to destroy the joint.

FB and many on here get confused between their personal views of a club and performance. Mudgee's record at St George is nothing short of outstanding. Multiple under 19 Premierships, the Prems team were very unlucky not be in multiple Grand Finals with narrow prelim losses, a Division 1 team consistently in the top 2 or 3, and a new third team that won a Premiership in its second year. Dont get your dislike of St George and Mudgee mixed up with Performance.

If we have turned St George in to "the most hated club in Sydney" then we have almost achieved our goal. 8 years ago when we started this journey we were irrelevant in this competition. Nobody hated us because we were never a threat to anyone. No one feared us, we were chalked down as an easy win, and there was never a chance we were going to threaten for a flag.
In the ensuing 8 years we have had over $2mill spent on Olds Park so that AFL has a facility in the south it can be proud of, we have got back in the black, we have increased our teams from 3 to 5, we are a genuine threat in any comp we play in, which is evidenced by 5 out of 5 teams playing finals in 2017, and 3 winning premierships in 2017, we were "Club of the Year in 2016", 5 grand finals in 2 years, and one of only 2 teams in the comp with 2 U19 teams. We have won 2 U19 Div 1 Grannies in the last 4 years. And all of this achieved without paying any players a cent.

How did we do it? It started with a President with a clear vision and the strength of character to make the tough decisions. A senior club coach in Mudgey that introduced a level of professionalism and game day structures adopted across all teams that the club had not experienced before. Plus he had the long term vision in the early days to cop a few big losses by playing kids rather than older players who were not up to Premier Div standard. For all the sniping of Mudgey I see on this page, he has been invaluable for our club. He is respected by players, officials, & parents alike. Plus in his tenure 3 St George players have beem drafted to AFL clubs, which reinforces his preparedness to help develop young players. And he has brought numerous players along to play at this club. Plus of course 3 premierships in 2017 (more than any other Sydney AFL club) who all use the game day structures and training drills that Mudgey introduced. And not a single paid player at the club. You don't achieve those kind of outcomes without a very good head coach.

There is now only one step more we have to achieve, and this is to be considered the "most arrogant club in Sydney". I would much rather be called arrogant & hated by the trolls on this site than to be irrelevant!

Very well put together and obviously shows that St George have come a long way under the strong leadership of its committee and excellent playing group.
The elusive Premier Division flag may not be too far away
