There's a piece of history in this weekend's fixtures; as Birchgrove Oval hosts senior footy for the first time since 1926.

The rugby league types will be having kittens.
Birchgrove Oval is where they played the first ever RL game is Australia.
"It is regarded as the spiritual home of rugby league in Australia because it hosted the first professional match in 1908."

That's a huge get by Balmain - well-done guys. I cant believe how hard it must be for North Shore with no home ground this season - but Balmain dont seem to have had a home ground for a decade.
I am sure a lot of work went into getting this, again well done.

Good on the ece ressies coach apologising on behalf of his team for getting in the face and even striking of the 17 kid who missed a shot after the siren to win it. Westies have no shame.

But id love to hear your thoughts on kenny and yakmov about to walk out. Attract players by paying peanuts cant be too unhappy when ece with their 400k debt and wests come in. Whats gonna happen when the 200 a game isnt enough?

Doubt they would be when you were offering our 17 year olds 200 a game.

All of which have come for the opportunity to play first grade. No one gets paid.

Opportunity or guarantee of a first grade game. Next season will be interesting anyway with the leagues push to go to a points system that too in itself is another argument

Going to be an interesting run home with 4 teams 3rd to 6th on the same no of wins with only 7% points between them. Bet no body picked Manly to be in mix
