It Doesn't Pass the Pub Test.
Head Office's latest draw change shows the level of attention Magic has at Head Office.
Long story but Magic agreed to change a Womens Div1 game to Gore Hill at 8.30 this Saturday. This was because the original draw had North Shore Womens Div1 playing Magic 3 times, all of them away games, hardly fair to start with.
Magic were offered a couple of time slots to make the change and they chose 8.30 this Saturday.
Then Magic found out that 4 of their better players had to go to Netball training and couldn't play, so they complained to Head Office and guess what the game is now changed to 9.40.
This means that the U19/2 fixture set for 10.10 is now to be played at 8am, 1 vs 3 Wests for North Shore, would have been a good finals warm up game, now the guys will be flat out getting warm.
North Shore also have a junior day with about 100 Auskickers and their parents attending for a half time game during Prems.
Nearly 500 players, volunteers and supporters from multiple clubs will have to rearrange their day so 4 x Magic players whose are choosing to go to netball training can now play football.
    Go figure

In my experience any changes of times after the draw is released comes with the proviso "As long as the other club agrees to the change" - are you sure no one at NS agreed to the change.

Fair way off it here my sources tell me. The original draw (For the whole year) has had the game scheduled for BISP 2 and only 2 weeks before the game a change is required? The Magic had a full day (4 games) scheduled with a past players and season ending social event at the sponsor. losing a game at home would cost any club some $$ through canteen etc wouldn't it? Requesting one simple time change to allow 4 girls who play state league netball to play is a fair request to me given they were available to play the game if it stayed at the same time and venue that had been scheduled since late March.

Westy, you sources are a little off the mark, Magic agreed to move the game to GHO at 8.30 a couple of weeks ago in order to even up the home and away aspect of the draw. I understand that Magic chose this time slot from a bunch that were offered.
TW you would know that there is agreement and then there is agreement when less palatable options look like being forced upon you.

It seems the whole organisation is in shambles at the moment.

Another example is the Platinum Prelim finals. Were initially slated for Henson Park, then out of the blue changed to Rosedale Park. That didn’t work so they changed the games to Kanebridge on Fathers Day!

They also had top 5 of U19’s Div 2 playing finals. But stiff on Blues and Rams as the only 2 teams missing out ????

Bring back Garry B or MG!

I wouldn't put blame at the afl here for a change.

Unfortunately Rosedale despite being within our hire period with the blessing of the council was canned due to cricket and the grounds staff. We have had access barely 4 months this year due to cricket. With the proposed upgrades to the ground things will need to be more equitable moving forward or it could become unexpectedly more costly for them.

Fair enough. Hope the upgrades work for Rosedale and assists with you guys becoming a stronger club.

Heard a interesting story and it will be interesting if the league does anything about it.

It may be div three last round but apparently in Randwick v unsw.

There were Randwick players basically all on dares including water runners

                    Pulling players pants down
                    Pulling laces out of players
Beer in the water bottle and given to club umpire
                    Cigarettes brought onto field

Surely this is going to far.

Whoever is running that club needs to take a hard look at what occurred and the league should come down hard

That is garbage no matter what division

There's no way the Magic would do that. It's written in their club charter.

We don’t want any free passes or concessions, we want our on field results to reflect where we compete in the Sydney AFL competition.

That absolutely shocking - clearly the finals fixtures should follow the season's pattern. It happens quite often though in AFL Sydney finals doesn't it - and some teams end up playing at ridiculous times in the past too from memory.

Good start Blinkers. Plenty if options. For a start, first round maybe should be highest finisher has home games. Interesting that first week of finals has 10 on Saturday and 12 on Sunday. As for Grand Finals, Prems always preferred Henson Park so why not play there on Saturday and Plats at BISP on same day. Other than that HQ feel committed to BISP after the GWS departure
