Bulldogs of to a flying start
He went to make a contest when he was caught out of position and unfotunately he got the UNSW guy as he was in mid air. I know the AFL is cracking down on this so we have to cop it sweet.
But if he didnt make a contest plenty of people would be asking why he didnt go in...Comment

I think he might get off. It didn't look too bad and I was surprised he was reported. There was another late charge by a Crows player in the forward pocket later that quarter which resulted in a 50m penalty and a goal that looked a lot worse. I guess St George will be scrambling for the Fox footage of them both.
How are St George looking. Who are all there key players that they have this year. Obviously there back line isnt very strong with the amount of goals that were kicked against them on the weekend.Comment

Their backline didn't go too badly considering who they were up against. It was always going to be tough matching up on Templeton, Luff, S. Pech and Coupe. If you look at the results, the major goals scorers were players up the ground like Carey and Snowball, with their crumbing forward J. Parmenter kicking a few also.Comment

Not very strong, but I'm not sure if they had a few out or not. Garner is still probably their main play maker. Togglerini obviously missed the pre-season and looks very underdone! They've still got a few solid players like Raper and Underwood, but fall away a fair bit.

Who are the CHB and FB for St George this year. Do they have much height? From the looks of it Luffys side shall stretch all teams.

Carey did well - sneaking in for about 4 goals, I think (with a couple of gimmes!). Cooney played in the centre for most of the day and without standing out, was pretty solid.Comment

Just a point of clarification fellas re the reference to "Fox Footy" in Monty Burns' post above.
Foxtel, via the Fox Footy channel, is simply the medium on which the Sydney AFL is shown throughout NSW. Otherwise Foxtel have nothing to do with it.
I think people need to be made aware that the entire program is funded by the NSWAFL and the nine Sydney AFL Clubs with a subsidy from Digital Sports, the television production house here in Sydney which tapes the selected game and then edits and produces what you see on Friday nights at 8.30pm.
And this year the the coverage should be better than ever ....Last edited by Oscar; 12 April 2005, 05:23 PM.www.eastcoasteagles.com.auComment

How quickly and smoothly did Luffys boys move the ball around the ground?Comment

What did you think of your boys performance on the weekend? They had a convincing win in the end. Were you a little worried when the scores were so close at one stage?
How are balmain looking? Did ECE have many players missing>Comment
