    round 2

Well there were some up sets in round 1 and a few results that everyone expected.

What is everyone's tips for round 2, obviously ECE taking another 4 points with the bye.

Was there anything that came out of any of the games on the weekend worth talking about?

    Round 2

    Balmain Vs St George
    Wollongong vs Campbeltown
    UNSW Vs Pennant Hills
    North Shore vs Wests

Were there many injuries or reports to come out of the 1st round?

Tipping ladder (from round 1 thread):
    Oscar - 4
    Monty Burns - 3
    Norris Lurker - 3
    Shearer - 3
    Peanut - 3
    Coastal Boy - 3

My round 2 tips are St George, Wollongong, UNSW-ES and North Shore.

Major talking point is the early-season form of UNSW-ES. They were sensational on Sunday - they've kept virtually all of their players, plus Troy Luff has come on board and Lex Vasdekis has pulled on the boots again; and with the form he showed on Sunday you'd never guess he hadn't played for a year.

Amasing how everyone is now tipping balmain. Everyone had them to struggle for the year and now everyone is tipping them to beat St George. Has St George lost alot of its players?

Some good results on the weekend in the Premier Division- not as lop sided as people predicted (including myself).
                This week -
-I think Wests will be hell bent on upsetting Norths. I hate tipping against a side looking down the barrel of 0-2 but think Wests can do it.
-UNSW first grade form looks too good to resist despite Pennos win.
-I won't tip Balmain until they win a game. St George for no other reason.
-I have no idea on Campbelltowns pre-season form but will tip them against the Gong who were terrible in the first half on the weekend. These last two games should provide much information on who's a chance at top 4 and who might struggle.

They lost quite a lot over the off-season - Donahue, Dugmore, Featherstone & Demir among them. Most of the replacements came from last year's U18s.
I've tipped against Balmain, but quite a few people are tipping them this week - many expected them to struggle pre-season, but they took the fight up to the Eagles last week and were only down by 8 points at the last change. Even though the Eagles ran away in the last quarter, Balmain earned a fair bit of respect for the way they played.

Did you see the game. Who has Balmain picked up?
What did ECE new recruits look like? Do they look like a side a present?

A lot stronger than most expected. Including me I will admit.

They should provide their share of upsets this year.

So have they picked up some new talent? Do you know who they have got?

Perhaps Balmain can answer that one ...
