Hi and welcome to Round 3 of the 2003 SFA Premiership Season.
Last week saw Round 2 completed and already Sydney Uni has been the form side of the competition.
The Penrith Football Club had a mixed start to its 2003 campaign, winning its SFA Division 2 clash against South West Sydney and its SFL Division 1 Under 18 clash but losing both Reserve & First Grade clashes against Parramatta.
Parramatta 27.10=172 defeated Penrith 4.7=31 at Goanna Park
First quarter saw Penrith dominate the opening minutes but poor kicking in front of goals cost them dearly. In the second half of the quarter, Parramatta started to get on top of the Penrith side and kicked away to a commanding 17 point lead at the first change.
1/4 Time: Parramatta 3.4=22 Penrith 0.5=5
Second Quarter saw Parramatta assert their authority on the scoreboard as
Penrith tried to find a way of stopping the onslaught. The Goannas kicked 8 goals to nil to comfortably lead by 65 points at the main change.
1/2 Time: Parramatta 11.4=70 Penrith 0.5=5
Third Quarter saw more of the same attacking football from Parramatta, kicking 9 goals to 1 taking an unassailable lead of 115 points into the last change.
3/4 Time: Parramatta 20.7=127 Penrith 1.6=12
The last quarter saw Parramatta totally overrun a tired Penrith side kicking 7 goals to 3 to win by
141 points.
Final Score: Parramatta 27.10.172 defeated Penrith 4.7=31

Sydney University 23.20.158 defeated Norwest Jets 4.5.29 by 129 points at Bensons Lane.
J. Considine kicked 5 goals for Sydney Uni and S. Quirk was best for Norwest Jets.
Wollongong 13.4.82 defeated Macquarie University 10.14.74 by 8 points at Roger Sheeran Oval
G. Campbell kicked 5 goals for Wollongong and N. Hilton was amongst the best for the Kookas.
South West Sydney 10.8.68 defeated Cronulla 8.9.57 by 9 points at Rosedale Oval.
P. Smith kicked 3 goals for South West Sydney and R. Craig was amongst the best for the Sharks
UNSW/ES 16.19.115 defeated Manly 12.10.82 by 33 points at Village Green
B. Roberts kicked 4 goals for the Bulldogs and A. Dransfield was amongst the best for Manly
Now to this weekend's football
The match of the round will be between Wollongong and South West Sydney at North Dalton Park.
Both sides are coming off close wins last weekend and this should be another close, tight contest.

The Penrith Football Club plays its inaugural game at Dukes Oval this Saturday. The Rams have been playing out of Greygums Oval, which they will keep as a training base, since 1987. The Rams board, elected at the end of last year, decided that looking for a new venue for AFL in the City of Penrith was their No. 1 priority. The final approval to play at Dukes Oval was given by the NSW/ACT AFL Commission and thus an old era ended and a new era at Penrith has started. The Rams take on last year's premiers, UNSW/ES, in both reserve grade and first grade, but starting the day off at Dukes, will be the Greater West Rams taking on East Coast Eagles. This will also be the unfurling of the 2002 Under 18 premiership flag won by Penrith.

Reserves v UNSW/ES start at 12pm
Firsts v UNSW/ES start at 2pm
Penrith-St Clair v UNSW/ES start at 2pm at Cook Park St Marys
