and yes I can't seem to get any of the DVD's out yet, been trying for hours!

I had to shake the box upside down to get mine out. Be carefull trying to put them back in as well!! One of my DVD cases cracked when i tried to get it back in.

I've tried 5 dvd shops in Pitt St, Sydney and no sign of it:
- Virgin in Myer.
- Sanity
- EzyDVD
- JB Hifi
- HMV

I'm now the proud owner of box set #1316, bought from the Virgin store at Myer Chatswood. I believe it was the last copy they had in stock. They had to retrieve it from the back store because it was put away last night for some gentleman (hmm, wonder who could that be).

They originally quoted me a price of $59.99, but I asked to them to clarify it with their system. While they were doing this, I was wondering whether it was a wise move to do so, in case they picked out the mistake and moved it back to $89.99. Fortunately they agreed it was priced at $49.99 and remarked 'it must have been marked down overnight'.

Anyway, for those who haven't got a copy yet I suggest you try to do so in the next few days as I get the feeling that the mistake will be discovered soon. Try Virgin as well as Sanity stores. Don't bother with HMV though, I saw a set priced at $110!

Looking forward to a weekend of trying to extract the discs out of the box

Packaging indeed cosy but at least it means the kids can't get at it. Besides, what do you expect for half price. Actually, the rest of the packaging is pretty schmick really.

A real treat to sit down to the highlights DVD last night. I'll be sneaking the other DVDs in over the course of the week as my missus falls in sleep in front of the box.

Wasn't mine! I got my set last night. I was also quoted $59.99 on the phone and the set actually had a $59.99 price tag sticker (I noticed when I got home) but the register rang it up at at $49.99

I don't think either set ever got onto the shelves - when I rang they had to retrieve a set from the back store and it was under the counter with my name on it when I arrived.

When I was searching several places mentioned it was much in demand. Interesting that the two copies at Chatswood were numbered so far apart (mine was #0088). Obviously random allocation.

It definitely has 3 commentaries on it, but no no-commentary option. That means I'll keep my other copy of the GF DVD, just for that soundtrack.

I bought another box set at Sanity in Hornsby last night for $49.99 and reduced it to $44.99 using the $5 discount voucher I received for spending $100 buying the other two box sets!!!

None of the three sets I have purchased had a price on them as they are new to the stores and hadnt been put out out yet (both stores appeared to have a pile of new DVD stock in). All three sets had to be checked on their computerised register for the price. I reckon that someone at Sanity's head office responsible for entering prices onto their computerised system is gonna get themselves into trouble for this obvious pricing error. We've done nothing wrong - we're paying the current asking price.

As OldRoyBoy suggested, people still trying to find a set should call around Sanity's many stores until you find a set (use the online white pages or Sanity website). Sanity at Hornsby may have more - sorry, I didnt ask.

Hey Mike - if you wanna make some money for RWO from this maybe you could buy up as many of the sets as you can then resell them on E-Bay?

The box I've opened for myself was also very tight. All three were numbered in the 1200-1499 range. I'd love to get one that matches a premiership players number that you also get signed by that player (so I would love to get 001, 0013 or 0032).

There's a full width add in the Tele today (on the letters page I think) that lists the RRP as $99.99 so get yer half price copies while you can!

They don't stay there long enough to be seen. It seems very few ever reach the display shelves.

Nothing to do with Sanity or the AFL it is the distributor VEG who set the price at $99.99.

I'm no expert, but I would suspect that there would only be a mark-up of 100% on the product which means that Sanity with it's current stuff up is selling the thing for absolutely no profit.

Someone surely has to work this out at head office soon.........
