    Should not pay more than Pick 19 for him really. Anything else is ripping us off.
    Not if Everitt helps us to win a premiership.

    The Everitt deal was always going to be about rolling the dice. We could lose big... but we might win something even bigger.

      Saddo --> Bulldogs.
      Doyle, 19 and 27 --> Hawks.
      Everitt --> Swans.

      So Everitt would cost us Doyle, Saddo and Pick 19. Expensive, but tolerably so.
      What happened to our key position player we are desparate for, we do not need 2 ruckman Richards is still up for grabs a KPP and 1 ruckman would be fine.

          re. chambers we have a good track record with bringing players back off the scrap heap - just think kirk, buchanan, jolly and even vogels.

          let's hope he turns out to be a bargain. it's not beyond the realms of possibility and i'm happy to give him a go.

          at least we know he can't be a ********head

            You're obsessed with rebuilding, but we are the reigning premiers, with a couple of years left to win more flags. It's completely illogical.
            Topping up doesnt win flags. We all witnessed the post 1996 Eade era.

            Everitt != flag.

                Why one year? They were talking about a three-year deal, which is not unreasonable.

                Everitt can help deliver another premiership in the next three years, but Doyle and Saddo probably won't.

                Still, not sure if we should include pick 19 too.

                  It can win a flag when you've already won one.

                  Certainly pick #19 is not going to deliver us a flag in the next 3 years.

                        No Jolly was recruited because Roos thought he would develop into a no 1 ruckman who would give the swans many good years of service.

                          Because in 1996 the team was only good enough to lose a grand final but in 2005 we won one.

                            Or we had a better run with injuries,
                            or we had a game plan to hang on to a 20 point lead.

                              So we just "rebuild" every year, sounds like a grand plan.

                                Yep.

                                Once the priority pick is removed, thats what all smart teams will do. As far as priority pick is concerned its as good as removed for us anyway, as the AFL wont let us slip that far down.
